Guys, it is highly doubtful that Sims is going to get cut. Teams generally carry 9 OL, so when the Niners only had 8 on their 53 man roster, the writing was on the wall that they were going to acquire another player.
Look for one of the bulked up positions to lose a player.

Im pretty sure they will keep Sims around for at least another 2-3 weeks if not longer. I think Curtis Taylor will be cut but Ricky-Jean is also a possibility as is Diyral Briggs if Ahmad Brooks is healthy I think he will go down to the PS.

Must be a real roller coaster for these bubble players in the NFL. From 'Yeah! I made it! Woo hoo!' to 'What??? I'm cut???' the next.

Barry Sims would now be 3rd on the OT depth chart. He's gone.
If not, it could be Rossum. Spurlock and Battle can handle return duties provide the extra WR until (IF) Crabtree signs.

Curtis Taylor or Briggs will be sent to the ps. I think we'll be keeping RJF on the active roster.
I don't mind keeping Sims as a 3rd stringer.

We need to have to backup OTs. Yes Sims is rubbish yet its better to have rubbish than no one to back up.
Imagine ths. Snyder goes down, Pashos steps in and Sims is cut, Who'll back up Staley?Sheets?

12 is excessive, but as to why:
- We run a 3-4 defense, meaning more LBs than most teams in the league;
- Some linebackers (e.g., Ulbrich) are primarily special teams players;
- Some of our LBs are or have been recently dinged-up;
- LBs are generally the most valuable special teams players, so all other things being equal...
Wouldn't surprise me to see one or two LBs waived in the next couple of weeks.

I thought we were only carrying 52. In which case, no one
