Think I'm gonna have to wear my Willis or Davis jersey on Sunday now. I was so happy to get my Crabtree jersey too!

In the meantime, Crabtree has been staying and working out in the Bay Area. His father, Michael Sr., said his son was “just working to get bigger, stronger and faster.” The elder Crabtree, who said his son recently spent a day catching passes from former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, declined to talk about the contract.

Further on in the article is says two teams told Crabtree they would take him next year in round 1. Now, I know he's not under contract but I'm 99.9% sure that since we have his rights we therefore have exclusivity in negotiating with the player; thus, we were tampered with and its f'n BS if we don't go after the teams especially after what happened to us with Briggs.
I, however, did draw some positives from the article. Next year's WR class will be better this year's and, moreover, it states that Crabtree is living and working out in the South Bay, leading me to believe that he ultimately will play for the 49ers. I'm guessing we will see no movement until this weekend as he'll holdout as long as possible in a (probably) futile attempt to squeeze more $$$$$ from the FO, before caving in and taking the 16-20$ mil guaranteed.
Besides, if his true desire is cash, then its in his best interests to sign this deal now and have FA come one year quicker. Moreover, there is a precedent to sign our strong-performing young players to long-term and lucrative extensions before their first deals expire--see Gore and Staley. If Crabs is truly as great as he believes/says he is, then he should have no trouble securing a massive extension in few years.

Why not a peep from the 49ers on this tampering issue?
An NFL employee goes on national TV and says that he and Crabtree know that there are two teams out there who would pay and trade for him? Multilple sources are coming out of the woodwork wtih tales of teams looking to trade for him etc?
Like PFT said.... Why aren't the 49ers LIVID about all this noise?
If I'm York, or our so called football orcale Parragg, I'm on the phone with Goodell looking for some F-ing answers. Why the hell isn't the NFL asking F-ing Deion who his source is?
This seems like a weak team with a weak front office getting the shaft.
