Nolan wasn't so different in wanting to establish a smash-mouth philosophy. It simply never seemed to work, presumably because the OL simply couldn't push defenses back and Gore, as hard as he hits the line, just doesn't have the ability that even some lesser players have of being able to punch it in.
Sing has shuffled the line some and is counting on attitude to make a difference. It might be that, plus Coffee and Norris, might make it more successful. Also, the emergence of Davis as a receiver should keep defenses more honest.

nolan wanted it, but he did not know how to implement it. they would never re-do a bad play in practice. also, in situations like that i think he would take over the play call, which will f**k it all up.

Coffee or Gore. Both of them can score if given the opportunity, and also if the offensive line actually blocks.

I know what is going to happen after I type this but I would rather have coffee on 3 an 1, 4th and 1 situations.
