I always thought Mike Martz was a pretty smart guy. I think Nolan abused him early last season, overriding some of the play calls. When Singletary took over, Martz toned it down but is obviously not a "smash-mouth" kind of guy.
I think his call on the 49er's making the playoffs has some merit. I respect his judgement.
This could be a fun season.

here is what people have to understand about Martz. He IS a smart guy. You give him a very specific situation and he can excel and win a super bowl. BUT. The farther your team is from that very specific need he has...the worst the flop is going to be.
Guys like Raye are exact opposites, they don't really excel at anything, and will never be a major contributor they just don't flop and can produce an average offense in just about any situation.

come on guys lets look at the facts our passing game was only good because of mike martz , we have the same wr corps from last year even though its preseason they are not getting it done
