it was a very solid tackle, its not great, he did what he was supposed to and got lower than the RB.
Vernon Davis is not going to be used in this game.

Jared Allen is going to be lining up against our RT's, look for vernon to stay into block or provide a chip here and there

in short, I doubt VD is going to get any love down field.
I think our D will pull through as it usually does, the biggest thing I'm worried about is Jared Allen, who lines up at the RDE position for Minnesota. So whomever we go with at RT next Sunday better bring his A game cause Frank Gore/Shaun Hill could get clobbered.

Yea, but we are ranked #3 in rush D...Minny is 15th!

Gore, Gore, Gore!!!

and that is the same reason that he hasn't had the superstar numbers that we had all hoped. He is always left to help block because our OLine sucks at pass blocking.

Sing will have 'em prepared......

Interesting quote from PFT....

"Also, 49ers coach Mike Singletary and Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier were teammates on the legendary '85 Bears defense. And the Niners defensive coordinator, Greg Manusky, spent three years as a player on the Vikings in the early 1990s."

Sounds to me like the Vikings will know what to expect...

You mean because he didn't dislocate his rib cage with the hit

Total defense rankings are next to meaningless. With a two game sample....almost totally worthless.

Things working in our favor:

1. We've played better competition than the Vikings have so far
2. We match up relatively well with them defensively (their offense versus our defense).
3. Vikings have had issues soundly beating Cleveland and Detroit....two of the league's worst teams.

Things not working in our favor:

1. We're the road team.
2. They have the best defense our offense has faced so far....and it's not like we've exactly lit up the scoreboard against our previous opponents.

Yah, I'm confused. The best RB in the NFL was taken down for a loss on the first hit.. It must be because his head didnt explode...?
