The Niners playoff chances really hinge on the first 5 weeks of the season. This team needs to start well and we're already down a key role player and yesterday Morgan had a "close call". I believe in tough football players but let's not miss the forrest for the trees here. I know we have good WR depth but that can get real thin real fast. Camp needs to chill a little. Just a little.
As was pointed out by MB or MM, the injuries thus far during camp are about on par with the rest of the league, so it is not the intensity of the camp. Injuries happen. The Niners are actually lucky that they haven't lost any players for the year yet, like other teams (e.g., The Panthers lost their starting DT and the Texans lost both their center and starting CB). Again, injuries happen.

He landed on his own shoulder trying to make a diving catch genius. Do you want them to not try to catch the ball with there hands so they dont risk broken fingers too?

Could be worse, which I thought it would be.
But dammit I really hope he's a fast healer, and/or that Singletary gives worst case prognoses, he said he'd be out
about 8 weeks.. but we don't need him for the Rams game at home, we need him for the VIKINGS game!!

Actually, i calculated wrong on when he would be back. I said the 3rd game of the season. If we start from today, he would be back for the 5th game of the season, but thats if its exactly 8 weeks.
I think he could recover a lot earlier. I mean how do they go from 2 weeks, to 8 weeks in one day? I think that Singeltary probably knows its less, but that he just said 8 just in case something happens during the process. He took the safe guess.

Well, I think that answers the questions about which receivers will be on the 53 man roster:
1. Morgan
2. Bruce
3. Hill
4. Battle
5. Ziegler
6. Crabtree
7. Jones

Damn this sucks!! He was showing some skills in TC. Well young bucks this is a time to step up and show what you got. Take the opportunity for what it is worth.

It would be very nice if Hill could show some speed and hands and become our replacement streaker.
He has been too damn quiet so far.

At least, I'm advocating a nerf ball and two hand touch

Can someone answer this:
Would we be able to put Jones on the PUP list and save another receiver spot? If he's out for 3-5 games why not just put on the PUP and have him comeback after week 6. Would he still count against the 53 man roster or can we save someone like Zeigler, Battle, Hill from PS/Cut fodder?
