IWAS's Old School 9er pics | Page 2

IWASATTHECATCH · 2009-07-25T13:15:56-07:00

I've recently scoured many, many boxes of photographs at my dad's house for the last few days. Now that I'm home, I will be scanning in and posting them, one at a time. This is at Kezar, in the summer of '78, either Team Photo Day, Family Day, or just a camp open to the public. (IWAS 7 years old). If you look closely, in his hands you will see him holding a stack of 3 x 5 cards. When asked for an autograph, he merely handed out a rubber-stamped card. I haven't seen my copy, but I expect that my dad has it, somewhere, in one of his fire-proof safes.

Since I can only see the "9", I'll assume this is QB Joe Reed, but if someone longer in the tooth corrects me, I'll take their word for it.

Yeah, Joe Reed was "19," which is why I typed what I typed.

Okay, thanks to this pic, I am able to say that this day (and series of pics) are from the summer of 1979.

My dad has an enlarged pic him and Montana from this day (we've been Norte Dame fans just as long as SF fans, so no one was around Joe, "this skinny, 3rd round draft pick", but us.). I tried desperately to find it, but no luck... yet.

The only copy is a poster-sized autographed copy in Pop's pool-room.

IWAS, do you mind if I post a link to this thread on the official board. The more people that see these awesome pictures, the better.

Dwights' girlfriend, Miss USA 1980 Shawn Weatherly, Dwight and my brother.

(This is either '80 or '81.)

EDIT: It's the Summer of '81, because of my Lott pics.

Awesome pics! You're dad rocks! Too bad we as fans can't get down on the field with the players anymore.
