COACH CAROUSEL | Page 6 | 49ers Webzone Forum

Hi guys. This is gonna be my first thread made on site. And I have to say there are many coaches on the hot seat and few of them are official done for next season while others are playing for their job for remainder of the season. I'll bring my candidates to be axed and their possible replacements and how they fit on those teams for next offseason. JASON GARRETT - COLTS O.C. BRUCE ARIANS. I have Arians as Cowboys Head Coach replacing Garrett over a huge list of candidates like Jon Gruden, Bill Cohwer, Mike Holmgren and Mike Sherman because all of those coaches had control or least made choices to choose their own personnel and that's something Jones will never let to do cuz his pride is humongous that he rathers let a 2nd or 3rd tier coach tries to survive on his terms than let an elite coach boss him around. But on Arians's favor, He is a proven coordinator and groomed Peyton Manning and Big Ben when they were rookies and has done an excellent job taking control of Colts team while Pagano is absent. He might be last hope for Romo to take him for next step on his career. ANDY REID - TEXANS D.C. WADE PHILLIPS. Many fans have Jon or Jay Gruden as possible candidates for Eagles coach spot but I saw them somewhere else, so my guess is Wade Phillips's gonna be the coach and rebuild the defense by switching to 3-4 scheme and most of roster fit in with Cullen Jenkins and Fletcher Cox as DL, Trent Cole and Vincent Curry as pass rushers plus Demeco Ryans and Michael Kendricks as ILBs with only spot left at NT filled on draft possibly Star Lotulelei or Jonathan Hankins. Meanwhile on offensive side, Eagles could hire Rod Chudzinski as O.C. for grooming young Nick Foles as starting QB. RON RIVERA - 49ERS O.C. GREG ROMAN (I know what you think but unfortunately this is gonna be unavoidable) Jerry Richardson had already told he won't hire big fishes like Holgrem, Gruden or Cowher after sour taste given by Seifert. Many fans would think about promoting Chudzinski as head coach but after how Cam fail on his expectations on sophomore season, another point of view is needed. "The Mad Doctor" has background with Panthers plus he already proved around league he can move the ball with many crafty and elaborated formations plus helping Alex Smith on his resurrected career. KEN WISENHUNT - DOLPHINS O.C.MIKE SHERMAN. Sherman will provide Bidwell an experienced coach who can help build faster this team than his predecessor. Sherman had bad experiences with TEXAS A&M Aggies but to be fair it was a lost cause try to beat schools like Texas, Nebraska, etc and he was cut by Packers because of Ted Thompson. Sherman already have tools to work with: Kolb showed some flashes at beginning of season plus having Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Roberts, Michael Floyd, Bennie Wells also a solid defensive core. As a former OL coach, He can help this wounded core of linemen. PAT SHURMUR - JON GRUDEN. Browns wins over Eagles mostly cuz Cleveland's Front Office will be cleared after Mike Holmgren is gone. In the past, Gruden was tempted of leaving ESPN for Browns but there was Holgrem as team football president and Tom Heckert as GM so he decided to stay on TV network instead. The University of Tennessee is pushing for his services but I don't see Gruden as NCAA coach while he can make something with his childhood's team. NORV TURNER - BROWNS MIKE HOLMGREN. Whispers around the league put Reid on Chargers's radar but why being satisfied by good coach while you can have The King Midas' instead. A.J. Smith and Turner will be gone for sure and Holmgren can easily fill those spots (literatelly speaking LOL). Holmgren has help teams like Seahawks and Browns to build up competitive teams through the draft and training camp. MIKE MUNCHAK - EAGLES ANDY REID. Bud Adams is tired by being crushed and overmatched in national media and they need someone who can build his team to be a big contender. Reid can bring Tom Heckert as his GM and build together a Superbowl team. On the defensive side of ball, he can bring Ron Rivera as D.C. ROMEO CRENNEL - BENGALS D.C. MIKE ZIMMER. Owner Clark Hunt needs someone with a tough and fighting attitude for this young team and Mike Zimmer fits nicely. Players whom played for Zimmer showed him their respect and dedication plus his career as defensive coach is remarkable around the league. Your thoughs?

Both Ken and Graves axed.

I thought Whisenhunt was a classy coach, but he just could never get the Cardinals firing on all cylinders and the gaping hole that remained at QB after Warner retired. I'm sure he'll be a good OC wherever he goes. Best of luck to him.

I thought Arizona's coach was good. The problem was not finding a QB. 7 head coaches fired already. Wow.

Whiz is a good coordinator, he lacks authority IMHO. How you you stand by for 4 years and let your GM(who reportedly had the most say in the QB position. Since Warner its been DAnderson a bust, John Skelton a 5th round FCS pick, Max Hall a UDFA from BYU, trades a way the farm for a terrible QB and switches back to his his 5th round FCS pick, Ryan Lindley a 6th round WAC pick, and Brian Hoyer a 3 year backup who wasn't on an NFL roster for the first 10 weeks of the season) undermine your team and keep you from succeeding. Put an Alex Smith/Chad Henne/Matt Moore or something of the like on that roster and they'd be in our same situation, contending for at minimum the NFC West title. Their defense is promising, look for DC Ray Horton to be the likeliest HC for them unless the new GM absolutely has to have his own guy.

Whoever lands Ray Horton as HC is going to be lucky as hell, especially if he just stays away from offense and hires a great OC.

I wouldn't mind stealing Ray Horton as DC.

in our dreams.....s**t we could only hope. Imagine if Bowman could have Daryl Washington like year, lead his team in tackles, handful of INTs, 6+ sacks. It would definitely mean more creative pass rushes and same man to man coverage on the back end.

During the bye week our assistants, as well as the other #1s and #2 from the AFC are eligible to interview for openings. Should be an interesting week to see if Seely and Roman generate the same interest as last year.

Not sure Seely will get serious look, if Gamble goes to Jacksonville, then I can see Roman as Jags HC. As long as Fangio stays, I am happy, keep the Defense together.

NYJ and JAX have asked for permission to interview Gamble. I dont think Gamble goes to either location, he COULD go to JAX but only if he can convince Khan to forget about Tebow because I don't see Gamble being a willing puppet in the Tim Tebow parade. That being said if Gamble does go to JAX then I could see Roman going there and either being happy with Henne as the "Alex Smith" of the team until their guy is ready and they have MJD to be their "Frank Gore" with a strong running game. Also a very viable spot for the real Alex because Alex is easily a better QB then Henne.

2) Norv runs a completely diferent offense. Kap doesn't need to learn a brand new offense w/less than 1 season as a starter under his belt. Please read, "The Alex Smith Project: How to ruin a QB."

Regardless of who we get it's Harbaugh's scheme so it won't change.
