Can be in order, or not in order. Im making this because they had top 5 on NFLN, and McGinnest had DeMarcus Ware, Revis, Jared Allen, Pierre-Paul and Bowman, while Warren Sapp had Ware, Revis, Allen, Ed Reed and Willis.
So I ask you guys, who is the top 5 or 10 defensive players in the game today?
I would put 3 49ers in the list, J.Smith, Willis and Bowman.
My 10 in no order
DE Jared Allen, Vikings
DE Justin Smith, 49ers
DE Jason Pierre-Paul, Giants
DE Julius Peppers, Bears
DE/OLB DeMarcus Ware, Cowboys
OLB Terrell Suggs, Ravens
ILB Patrick Willis, 49ers
ILB NaVorro Bowman, 49ers
CB Darrelle Revis, Jets
S Troy Polamalu, Steelers
Now since Suggs is hurt for 2012, I would add his teammate Haloti Ngata on the list.
Just missed mine include. (would be next 10)
DE Mario Williams, Bills
DE/OLB Tamba Hali, Chiefs
DE Elvis Dumervil, Broncos
DE Chris Long, Rams
DE Chris Clemons, Seahawks
DE/NT Haloti Ngata, Ravens
OLB Clay Matthews, Packers
ILB Ray Lewis, Ravens
CB Joe Haden, Browns
S Ed Reed, Ravens
CB wise, I don't see many elite guys, just really Revis. Asomugha would be if he would fit the scheme in Philly right. I like Haden a lot.

pretty spot on, but i think i take out polamalu(at this stage) and replace him with ngata.
with suggs out, it is between reed, polamalu, and lewis. and i will go with reed by a hair. the dude is just a pure threat back there, and unlike troy he can easily take it back for 6,

Good list. Seems like Terrel Brown of the Niners ought to be on it but I don't know who you would take off.
