The Indianapolis Colts have released running back Joseph Addai, linebacker Gary Brackett, defensive back Melvin Bullitt, tight end Dallas Clark and quarterback Curtis Painter. Wow. Gotta give credit to them - they know how to start from scratch.

They'll make a few value signings and build through the draft. Lost of talent available to fill in their holes of their roster.

And they're shopping Dwight Freeney.
Add Manning, Wayne, and Garcon and they're seriously cleaning house.

May as well. You don't need all those guys to go 2-14. They are going for a full-scale rebuild. It makes watching them even more interesting as they attempt this rebuild. However, they should retain at least one of those veterans on offense.

Would painter be a good backup with a year of starting under his belt?

Would be interested in Addai if he was willing to play for cheap, especially on a one year contract or something, he's a useful back to have around, especially if Gore got injured or something.
Would also be interested in Brackett if Larry Grant walks, he'd be good for depth at ILB. He's 31 but was a tackling beast a few years back. Could be a nice veteran addition for someone.
