Do you like MC Breed?
One thing is probably for certain: Brady will probably break Marino's 5,084 yard record as well.

And if there's anyone else within earshot of it, they might break it too. If it weren't for the Packers clinching home field advantage, Rodgers has a shot at it too.

So even if Brees gets the record, he doesn't quite "own it" like he should.

BTW, here's a look at 1984. If it weren't for a rather unexpectedly strong season by Neil Lomax, Marino is all by himself over the competition:

Passing Yds
1.Dan Marino*+ · MIA 5084
2.Neil Lomax* · STL 4614
3.Phil Simms · NYG 4044
4.Dan Fouts · SDG 3740
5.Dave Krieg* · SEA 3671
6.Joe Montana* · SFO 3630
7.Steve DeBerg · TAM 3554
8.Paul McDonald · CLE 3472
9.Joe Theismann · WAS 3391
10.Warren Moon · HOU 3338

And this year with a game left to play:

1. Drew Brees NO 5087
2. Tom Brady 4897
3. Aaron Rodgers 4643
4. Eli Manning 4587
5. Matthew Stafford 4518
6. Philip Rivers 4314
7. Matt Ryan 4071
8. Tony Romo 3895
9. Cam Newton 3893
10. Ben Roethlisberger 3856

Romo, Cam Newton and Ben will all be 4000 yards this year. Ten 4k passers vs. three
Don't think it will happen
Wow, I never knew Brady was that close.
You change every single rule for 30 years to FAVOR the offense, QB's, WR's, TE's and O Line and what a shocker the record falls. 2 people in one year breat it. I'm so surprised.

Alex Smith at #7 in 1984.

Then Brady would have broke Brees record.

I just found it funny the media has been making Drew Brees to be the greatest QB to play the game cause he broke this record, but they refuse to acknowledge the fact that Tom Brady is only a very pedestrian game away from breaking a record Brees just set a couple days ago (and needed to run up the score to do so).

They always do it. Remember a few years ago when Peyton got back to the Super Bowl and the media was ready to anoint him as the GOAT. Then he lost.

I believe the same thing happened to Brady.

Montana ftw.
Just gives more proof to the the point that the record is b******t. There were 4 - 5 guys on pace to break the record this year. That goes to show you that what Brees has done is nothing special. It is an artifact of the rules.
u honestly dont know?
