Oh brother

This. Wtf

He still had a good game statistically

235 passing yards; 1 TD
32 rushing yards; 1 TD

A lot of those passing yards came in his last drive when KC backed off and was trying to force him to make short passes to take time off the clock. At one point he was something like 6/17 for 90 yards.

KC's defense is pretty good, though, and as others have said, he was without Jennings. But that's been one of my points, that he's greatly helped by an outstanding receiving corps. Look what Brady has done with subpar receivers for most of his career. I still put Rodgers in the top 5 of current QBs, he's elite no doubt, but he hasn't reached the level of Brady or Manning, imo, let alone Montana.
I never thought he was. I thought they could lose a game. And they are capable of losing more including in the playoffs. They may or may not. They are tough but they can be beat. Good defense and ball control offense. Just as all figured the formula was.

wasn't he banged up a little bit entering this game? I thought I remembered reading about some type of injury
Aaron Rodgers is a great quarterback. But he is a big reason they lost today. He simply couldn't deliver.

RodgEXCUSES.....
Rodgers is in for some trouble. He lost another o-lineman for the season. That is a patchwork o-line. We saw the effects in the 4th quarter.

Good. Maybe that will take them down a knotch or 2 and give other teams in the NFC a shot in the playoffs....
KC did what we need to do against them, they controlled the clock
KC 36:11
GB 23:49

Aaron Rodgers has earned his respect. Every QB has bad games now and then, but GOOD QBs don't let it happen often. Alex Smith hasn't done anything to give him a free pass.

He's complied a 10-3 record, been clutch when he needed to be, is 2nd in 4th quarter comebacks, earned a top 10 QB rating and a stellar TD-to-Int ratio. So yeah, I'd say he gets a pass.

The defense and run game are far more responsible for the 10-3 record than Alex Smith. Even if you want to credit everything to Alex, he's having one pretty good season out of 7 as a pro (2006 was decent, not good). He deserves no pass.

For whatever reason, though, he gets a pass from some Niners fans no matter what. He can come out and chuck 7 INTs in one game and people would still find someone else to blame.

The difference between he and Rodgers is Rodgers gets a pass from just about everyone if he has a poor game because they come few and far between. You'll have a hard time finding people outside of Niners fans who think Alex has earned any kind of respect. And, despite what you might tell yourself, its not because they don't know Alex's story.

You do realize Gore only has 4 or 5 games all season with more than 90 yards, right? Just askin...
