Indianapolis Colts: We've seen some reports from "NFL insiders" saying the idea of the Colts hiring Jim Tressel as head coach is preposterous...but we're passing along what we're hearing. Two sources close to the Colts tells us that Jim Irsay seeks and values Tressel's opinion and respects him as a coach. Our sources say the search is ongoing; but they advise that Tressel truly could be the next head coach...and if not they believe that Irsay would try to retain him within the organization in some capacity. Disclaimer> None of the information above came from Rob Lowe.

The Colts are becoming one of my Franchises that I love to hate. Sure nothings been done or said about what they're gonna do with Manning, but the way they treat their future HOF'ers is down right awful. Look how they just tossed aside Marvin Harrison after all hes done, now pretty much strapping Manning to the Colts or sorry vice versa is $28 million dollars. I'm pretty sure if it wasn't that much due, Manning most likely would be on his way out right about now. Now they have one losing season in God knows how long and they just axe the HC just like that, after taking them to a Super Bowl....one losing season seriously.
Jim Irsay is quickly becoming a piece of s**t. And WTF does Jim Tressel know about the NFL.

With the success that JH has had this year you would think more teams would be looking at college head coaches.

I couldn't disagree more with what you said.

Everything... They are treating Peyton just fine... The Colts signed him to a 90 million dollar contract this year when he was 35 years old. They might not pick it up because of a probable career ending injury and being able to bring in Andrew Luck. And Harrison he was clearly done his last two years 2007: 247 yards in 5 games 2008: 636 yards in 15 games and Irsay said he plans to induct Harrison into the Colts ring of honor and sign him to a one day contract so he can retire as a Colt. Harrison would of counted 13.4 million against the cap in 2009, the highest of any receiver and would not restructure his contract. Any team would of released him. You don't win if you keep over the hill players because of who they once were.

I wasn't aware of Harrison's contract, all I remember was the Colts just down right releasing him. As for Manning, thanks for clearing up with actual facts. But still one losing season, and they decide to clean house, firing everyone, horrible decisions.
Peter King @SI_PeterKing
Brian Schottenheimer, not Hue Jackson, likely offensive coordinator in St. Louis.
