Posted by Josh Alper on September 22, 2011, 5:01 PM EDT Reuters The Seahawks haven't gotten the kind of play they expected when they made Aaron Curry the fourth overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft so they are giving someone else a chance. Curry has been demoted to the second team and rookie K.J. Wright will take his place as a starting outside linebacker. Curry has been a starter since arriving in Seattle after a decorated career at Wake Forest, but he has never been particularly impressive at the professional level. In 32 career games, Curry has recorded 123 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He had his only NFL interception in last season's playoff loss to the Bears. Per Jay Glazer, Curry is headed to the Raiders for a pick this year and another pick next year. Not word on which rounds yet.

Wow. This guy was a can't miss prospect at LB just a couple of years ago....

People were saying he was the next Willis.

Just goes to show nobody is truly an expert when it comes to the draft. Haha I remember Seahawks fans already saying Curry would be better than Willis.

As @Joey_Roberts notes, Raiders already without 2nd, 3rd and 4th-round picks in 2012, so didn't have to give up too much for Aaron Curry.

Raiders have done great picking up other team's LB trash. Groves and Moss are playing pretty well for them. And they got Curry for almost nothing. Nice job, Hue.

And man, if you're a Seattle fan you got to be pissed. 4th overall pick traded just a few years later for a 6th and a future 7th.... That hurts.

Thats only a 7th round pick more than we got from Seattle for Balmer!

I think its a great trade for the Raiders. I think they'll put him on the outside and move Groves to the bench. I hope they can get him turned around. Still wanting to see the Niners/Raiders superbowl someday in my life.

No, what hurts is spending our 2nd on Mays and letting him go for a seventh....in 2013!

I'd rather get a 7th for a 2nd round pick than a a 6th and 7th for a #4 overall pick.
