As we suspected, the league knew about the potential problem with temporary seating well before Sunday. According to the Dallas Morning News, nothing was said about the situation because the NFL believed it had a “very good shot” at getting the situation resolved.
“We made a judgment that it was the right course of action to bring the fans in, rather than to discourage them or create a sense that they wouldn’t have the information necessary,” NFL executive V.P. of business ventures Eric Grubman said.

now the NFL is saying they will refunding their tickets at face value x 3, and give them a free ticket to Super Bowl 46.
PR blitz by the NFL before the lock out .
NFL to give 400 free Super Bowl 46 due to seating issue Sunday

That's what I was about to say what they should do.

So someone who buys a ticket for $800, misses a minimum of a day of work, has to pay for a flight to Dallas, has to pay for a hotel for a few nights, gets to the game all pumped up to watch his team play in the superbowl, and is told when he gets to the door that his seats wouldnt be ready for him to watch the game........and you dont feel bad for that guy? Come on bro. Thats really stupid.
Just because on the secondary market, those $800 seats go for over 10x that much, doesnt mean that these people shouldnt be pissed. They put their lives on hold to go to a once in a lifetime event with their favorite teams involved, and they dont get to watch the game because the NFL/Cowboys didnt have their stadium ready?
You not feeling bad for these people is more a reflection of you being an idiot, than having a different opinion than everyone else.

3 times the face value is reasonably fair. It should help offset some hotel and travel costs.

Jerry had no control over it. The NFL ran everything connected to the Super Bowl.

Jerry had control over the designs, which allowed for the temp seating to be installed, which then was deemed unsafe for the fans. That means it's Jerry's fault.

The NFL does determine the Super Bowl. If they felt something was unsafe they could have determined that before the game and not sold those tickets. I'm unsure why it took so long?

The contractor that Jerry hired to build the extra 1,250 seats ran out of parts and workers walked off the job the day before the super bowl.
Jerry then found another contractor to try and complete the stands before the game. The local Fire Marshal deemed the stand unsafe hours before kickoff.
850 fans were given better or equal seats to watch the game.
400 fans were given the option to watch from standing room platforms or watch from the club room behind the Steelers bench with free food, drinks and merchandise. Those 400 fans also received 3x the face value of the ticket and Super Bowl 46 tickets.
Everyone got to see the game and 400 got a bunch of free s**t to make up for the mistake.
s**t happens nothing is perfect. If Jerry never decided to try and break the attendance record these 1,250 people wouldn’t have been at the game in the first place and wouldn’t have this super cool story to tell for the rest of their lives.
And I’m supposed to feel sorry for these people who can afford to drop thousands of dollars to go see a super bowl and s**t isn’t all peaches and cream? f**k that
personal attack? You don't know me
mini Jim thinks you should send each of the 400 fans a card to cheer them up
