Spagnuolo had an interesting comment about why he hired McDaniels: He said he looked around the league to see which schemes he had the most trouble defending and "that search led me straight to McDaniels..." Of course that was said in introduction of JM but it is an interesting way to put it considering Spagnuolo is one of the very best defensive minds in the game.

Another note; Dick Curl, the veteran Ram QB coach has announced his retirement. He had a very good relationship with Bradford, sort of a father figure in addition to being a very good coach. Replacing him both in experience as a coach and the relationship with Bradford may not be all that easy given the closeness that develops between players and their position coaches.

I don’t think Josh is good.

I think people think he’s good cause he once called Bill’s plays.

Bill Belichik is NOT an offensive coach. Therfore, Josh either called his own plays, or the ones from the OC before.

He coordinated the greatest offense in history (or close to it, the '07 Pats) and had Kyle Orton on pace for the 1st half of the season to break Marino's all time single season yds record.

You think he's a crappy HC fine. But let's not kid ourselves about his ability to run an offense, most notably the passing game.

Take a look at Kyle Orton's career stats. He was on pace to improve to the level he's playing at now. Also take into account that he only played 3 games in his second year. This was one guy I really wanted us to draft in 2005. Bears got him in the 4th.

We didn't have too much trouble defending the Broncos.

Kind of funny reading his bio

Dad is considered a “legend” in high school coaching.

Dad is friends with Saban who gave Josh his first job as a Graduate Assistant

Two years latter he was named a Personnel Assistant for NE
Nick Caserio hired by NE at the same time was the QB who beat out Josh in college

looks like he's been riding out the golden spoon for a while

lets see how he does

Lets see the Alex apologists explain next year if Bradford doesn't regress with 2 OC in 2 years.

McDaniels>>>>>Most of the OC that Alex Had. With the exception of Norv Turner what OC did Alex Smith have that wasn't a joke? Martz maybe? But Alex was still injured and went on IR so maybe not. Replace the former Rams OC with a joke like Raye or hell any of the 49ers past OCs.
