Thank God we didn't draft 'em

Recent articles have prompted me to reminisce abour prior drafts and players many of us were extremely high on. Two especially were brought to mind since, so far, they appear to be huge busts, and both were touted pass rushers many 'Zoners pushed hard for: Aaron Maybin and Vernon Gholston. Positions of need that we would still be deficient in had we drafted either of them! Thought it'd be fun to put some other names into this hat. Anyone?

Gholdston was the 6th pick in the draft, and we had the 28th pick that year.

Maybin definetily had his followers here, as did Oher and Orakpo who both would have made much better picks than Crabtree.

I don't remember who I wanted that draft but I knew I didn't want carriker.

I wanted Maybin, and still think he might catch on with a REAL 3-4 team (he's not a 4-3 DE) and do something. Until then, I admit I was completely wrong about him.

Instead of Alex smith I wanted to draft Braylon Edwards with the plan of sucking again and getting a top 3 pick the next year and using that puck to draft Matt lienert
