would also rather keep the 2nd and 4th over getting ayers....could use the second for possibly jeremy beal....could then use the extra 4th and other picks to try and get back into the second instead.....the price to jump back into the first is a lot and there is still a good crop of talent in the second.

although i dont really like much of the qb talent in this draft if we wait until the 5th round for a qb id rather just not draft one at all because they would basically be no better than a career backup (unless we somehow get extremely lucky) and we dont need anymore of them

I agree with your thinking here.

The QB crop this year is weak. I don't see any that are really worth a pick in the 1st round. I'd rather go with Smith/McNabb this year and solve the other problems in a way similar to what you have done. This is not a good year to get QB value.

Having seen a bunch of mock drafts, it seems odd to me that the top 3 or 4 OL are listed near the bottom of the first Round. If we decide to forego a top pass rusher and trade down, we could wind up with some great OL. I would think needs not talent is driving this draft. In some cases like Buffalo that seems to have a decent QB I would trade down and grab a Costanzo and Solder and make up an OL that would take 2 or 3 years to acquire normally.

Im willing to give it 2 years......long enough for Harbaugh to coach up whoever we draft this year......with this CBA issue it looks like "The Bust" is the smartest solution......maybe Harbaugh could coach him up, maybe not but its looking like we are stuck with him for 1 maybe 2 more years.

But that not what he said... He said no rookie QB only signing a vet was why he picked an undrafted QB in the 5th round.. That what got us in trouble last year with Dingleberry. He brought in no other QB and we were stuck with Alex and Troy... Two back-up Qbs.. Also I don't think the CBA going to scare the 49ers away from improving our biggest weakness. Not unless they just want to throw away 2011..

Not unless they just want to throw away 2011..

they are no qbs in this draft that will improve our team THIS YEAR our best chance of winning is by a veteran FA best avaliable are mcnabb pennington and yes alex smith

trading for kolb is dumb hes overrtated we would have to trade a high pick for a person who produced around the same as alex who was on a better teaam who had better personell and a much better coach

So basicly your whole mock is based on your love for Alex and not on anything realistic.. Because Alex is not better then Kolb... Kolb actually won ball games and I take a guy in Kolb that only played 6 games over a guy that played 6 years and hasn't produced 1 wining season ever! Not only that but McNabb,Palmer and Orton would all be better improvements over Alex..

P.S. Since I know this thread is truly about now... I think I will move on from it,because I'm not interested in getting into another Alex battle..
