I would be hesitant to select Quinn inside of the top 15, too many question marks & legitimate concerns.
His brain tumor & year off the field turn me off the most, the 49ers shouldn't take the risk & look for alternatives at OLB.
Yeah, let's take a lesser talent because this guy made a dumb mistake and his tumor hasn't been an issue since the surgery.
It's like not drafting a guy because he has a mole.
I'm guessing you probaly aren't a brain surgeon & are only a genus by username so refrain from comparing a career threatening tumor to a beauty mark please.
Sure he's talented, but the 49ers have had plenty of "talent" over the past couple seasons, frankly upside doesn't get you wins.
Quinn has bust written all over him in my eyes.
He's not very fast
He's not very smart
Obviously has bad judgment
& Prefers jewelry to football
Don't forget the last defensive lineman we took out of NC.
he had hhis brain tumor in hs and it was contained before he went to college he produced well in college and all the doctors have cleared him
Quinn is going to be a top 15 pick, and while the risk factor may be high due to him only having one good year, I think he can be successful in the right place.
Many people mention Gholston as the freakish athlete comparable to Quinn when saying he could be a bust, but Brian Orakpo also was a freakish athlete who did remarkable in converting to linebacker in Washington's 3-4.
Gholston was taken based on his physical tools despite having major weaknesses that would surface if placed on a 3-4 team. He didn't work out, but that doesn't mean Quinn won't work out as well.
With that said though, I do believe Quinn is better suited to the 4-3, and would not have him high on my 3-4 OLB list.
