1st Round: OLB Von Miller Texas A&M 6'3" 240
Miller is an explosive do-it-all OLB. He ran circles around some of the best OL prospects in the draft at the Senior Bowl and despite his lack of ideal bulk, I think he will be a terror off the edge in a 3-4.
2nd Round: CB Brandon Burton Utah 6'0" 192
CB is a big need for the 49ers and if they don't get one at #7, who have to think they will target someone in the 2nd round. Burton is a big, physical CB who excels in man coverage and will give the 49ers a good cover CB.
3rd Round: QB Christian Ponder Florida St. 6'2" 222
Behind Gabbert, Ponder is my favorite QB prospect in the 2011 draft. He is smart, tough and NFL ready with good mechanics and above average accuracy and arm strength. He suffered some injuries in college and struggled with consistency but I think Harbaugh can turn this guy into a good NFL starter.
4th Round: CB Rock Carmichael Va Tech 5'11" 186
Physically, Carmichael has it all, with superb quickness and speed. He struggles with consistency and has too many lapses but the tools are their to develop into a starting CB at the next level.
4th Round: DL Kenrick Ellis Hampton 6'5" 340
An athletic freak who has struggled with off the field issues, Ellis profiles as DE or NT in the 3-4. The 49ers need to improve depth and Ellis could evolve into a rare talent.
5th Round: FB Owen Marecic Stanford 6'1" 247
49ers need a new FB and Marecic is a fierce competitor and favorite of Harbaugh. This pick is a no brainer.
6th Round: RB Jacquizz Rodgers Oregon St. 5'7" 190
Rodgers is an explosive talent who reminds me a lot of Maurice Jones-Drew. He will give the 49ers another gear outside of Gore and Dixon.
6th Round: ILB Bruce Miller Central Florida 6'2" 255
A tough and rugged ILB that can compete with McKillop at the TED
7th Round: WR Jeff Maehl Oregon 6'1" 189
Maehl is a smooth WR who is tough going over the middle and has good hands. A good fit for the P-squad.

5th round would rather take Havili if hes available, and in the 7th would rather take Greg Salas if hes available, but other than that I like the Mock.

I think everyone is really overreacting to him getting past Sherrod.
Besides his pass rush skills aren't in question. I guess we'll see how it goes down.

If those guys are available, then it's a good mock. But I don't think Carmichael will be available at that spot. I see him as a 2nd/3rd round CB. Same for Ellis. In addition, I would prefer a Jimmy Smith or Johnny Patrick over Burton.
That's me cherry picking though. You addressed our main needs and provided solid depth. Good job.

Mike, who you have the 49ers taken if Ponder not there in the 3nd? Just curious...

I know Miller is a terror off the edge, but too many questions about defense against run and pass to warrant #7 at this point. Hopefully the combine will help sort thru these issues. Nice job though

It's a close call between Ponder or Dalton. I have to think that one or both will be there in the 3rd.
If not, then I like Enderle is a developmental guy. He's a strong, big-armed kid who seems to have some decent mobility and pocket awareness.
Outside of those 3 guys, I don't get too excited about anyone else. Stanzi, McElroy and Devlin are guys I could see going in the 4th or 5th round area but all have the same weakness - severe lack of arm strength - that limits their potential as starters.

Yeah but the guys was killing it in college. Hes definately a special player and after the combine we will have no chance with him.

think this would take us over the edge from above average to hopefully nasty defense
curiosity....with us drafting ponder who would you have us starting at qb in 2011 (includes who you think we can/could land in FA when CBA done)

I think I'd rather take Stanzi than Ponder in round three.

I'm thinking Salas is going to rise quickly. He's having a nice week at the Senior Bowl.
I think he'll go between the 3rd-5th eventually.
