It seems more and more likely that the top 4 tackles (Okung/Bugala/Williams/Campbell) will be gone in the Top 10. In addition, I've heard some people postulate that Buffalo wants to trade down. So, how about this scenario:
trade the #17 and our 3rd rounder for Buffalo's #9. It's an even deal according to the traft value chart. We can draft Williams at #9 and at #13, we can still have a crack at Spiller, Haden, or McClain.

Depends on who has gone and who is dropping. Losing a third in this draft would hurt, though. Much as I want a tackle I think this is a no.

I get what you are saying; however, in your scenario Anthony Davis is still available so I would not make that trade.
If those top 5 are gone by the time we pick at #13 then someone will fall to us that we can take (Haden, Graham, Spiller, Bryant, Berry, Clausen?).
So, I wouldn't be too upset if none of the top 5 OT's didn't make it to us.
Graham and Iupati would be a good 1st round.
Oh, and not to nitpick; but it is Bulaga not Bugala.

We have to keep in mind that we need a Right OT. I'm sure everyone remembers the criticism the Cards took for drafting a RT in the top 10. They even had a fair reason for it. Now, many of our fans are hoping that we do the same thing. Let's take a step back and think this through.
We should be able to find atleast one RT with where we're positioned in the draft. Most RTs in the NFL were drafted outside of the 1st. We'll be fine. There's no need to trade up and become desperate, as if we're trying to land a franchise LT. We already have that in Staley (who Scott found later in the 1st). No one even talked about Staley entering the draft. Trust me, there are going to be solid RTs availble.

17 + our 3rd is enough to get us to 13.
13 + our 3rd would get us up to 9.
Will the 49ers value Williams as a top 10 pick is the question ? Scot already said he won't reach.

I find it really hard to believe all 5 OTs would be gone. I just hope if 4 go one of them will be Campbell.
If all are gone then we should really look at trading down.

If 5 OTs have gone, there is likely a lot of talent at our existing picks.

When did Campbell become a better prospect than Davis?

Exactly....if Campbell gets past the raiders then I can see him drop into the late 1st or early 2nd. The dude is not very good.

The chart is inaccurate. Look at the trade calculator: http://www.footballguys.com/pickvalue.htm

Nope -- Davis will be there, but Campbell and Davis aren't as good at the other three.

I know Detriot does, but who else? I can see CLE as a candidate, especially if Clausen is gone. If Bulaga is still on the board at #7, would you trade up for him?
According to the draft value calculator, an 'even trade' would be to swap #13 for #7 and swap a 3rd-rounder for a 5th rounder.
To trade the #17, we would have to send them a 3rd and a 5th.
