I think you guys are setting yourself up for a massive disappointment next week.
There's no smoke without fire, trade rumours only surround players on certain teams. If you project out that Wilson is available, only 3 or 4 teams make any sense as destinations and the Bills should be ruled out as they're within division.
You need a hole at WR, but to be a contending team and have flexibility with salary cap. The only team that checks more boxes than us are the Chiefs.
We have the cap space right now, and when it gets tight we just don't pay Pearsall and/or let Evans walk when he's done.
Chiefs the same, they will have a plan to give Rashee Rice a contract and can just allocate that money to Wilson instead.
Steelers have been rumoured to be interested, but already have a lot of money at WR with Metcalf and Pittman. Also do they really think they're contenders?
Most likely option is Wilson stays with the Jets, then Chiefs, then us. Not entirely sure on the percentages but it's enough for us to want, hope or possibly dream.
