I think Mack is who they get and it's probably a 5th or 6th rounder. I agree the Chargers are doing a bidding war for him to max the pick they get for him. Maybe at WR Downs IF the Niners want to trade for a WR. I don't think Wilson is coming. First he stated he wants to stay with the Jets and the Jets 1st rounder from the Colts keeps getting higher and higher as the Colts basically give up on the season. Why give up Wilson when the Jets will probably draft a franchise QB and then not have an elite receiver to pair him with? That unfortunetly doesn't make sense to me but we'll see. I don't think the Niners will give up the draft capital to try to get him, just my opinion.

Or, the 49ers forced Da Bears into a horrible trade. The Bears wanted Buckner. But Buckner didn't want the Bears. The 49ers got Buckner. That forced the Da Bearz to massively overpay for a 29-year old lineman. Two first round picks? The Bears were massively fleeced.

I never expected them to trade for a wr or o lineman. Hopefully they find a pass rusher We just don't have any players who can win 1v1 when we need to get off the field.

It seems to be trending counter to the new NFL passing rules. Defenses need to be able to keep more DB's in coverage so there's a premium on big, quality interior lineman. On the plus side, the 49ers may have got Buckner on a steal of a deal based on the price the Bears paid for Simmons. The gap between him and Buckner is nowhere near the difference in price.

This is not sustainable. I think the 2nd, 3rd and 5th picks are up for sale. If you can get a multiple pro-bowl WR <28 yrs old, even a 1st round pick or get two avg WRs. Get something, pay more, leap of faith, anything.

aging players is exactly why you keep your draft assets. trading just to "do something" is not how you successfully run a team in the longterm.

There is this thing: "strike when the iron is hot". Also, the iron doesn't remain hot for long.

The goal is to win the SB, hopefully not just remain a playoff team for decades. It's hard to get this many great players playing on one team for this long. We should have won a SB by now.
Do something does not obviously mean get someone from retirement, context matters. It's a travesty that a coach like Shanahan does not have a legitimate WR1/WR2 for multiple seasons. I hope Jed, Lynch & Shanahan make a solid move, and they do it now.

I'd be surprised if someone trades anything higher than a 5th for Mack. A fifth seems high. Hes 35 on an expiring contract.

throw a 6th and a pick swap or something. I really think the chargers are just trying to run up his price by making teams bid for him. I don't think he'll be traded until closer to the deadline

Waiting til after the raiders game would be a mistake. Alot of the players still available will most likely be gone by then
