Faithfool...i mean ful...i mean... he's full of derptastic takes.

cuz there needs to be some accuracy on the forum when we are a trash team you all bow down to devers like he's bonds lol

guy is a 2 war player, chapman has more war and played half the games. he's a negative in the field and on the bases he can swing a solid stick when he's not yelling at tony

Devers runs pretty well now that he's healthy. He mhad some leg or hip issues that were really slowing him down. He's certanly not a burner but I've seen a lot of guys slower. His fielding is average at best but he's better than anyone else they have. Eldridge isn't as good yet and he's even slower on the bases. He's the only guy they have with legit power right now so his fielding and base running don't matter. He may hit 40 HRs. No Giants player has done that since Bonds in 2004.

As hot as Devers is they should consider batting him behind Eldridge. Bryce gets a lot of walks so that would create more RBI opportunities for Devers and Bryce might see some better pitches with a hot bat behind him.

and look what happened after we got devers we went into the tank, most meaningless 30 HR in MLB history not a single homer meant jack; he had a bad attitude in boston and here also, then you factor him being fat, and not running or playing the field. he's not worth even half what we are paying him let alone the prospects we gave

Using that logic I guess Angels fans could blame all their lousy seasons on on Ohtani or Mike Trout.

he aint those guys. they are high war players worth every cent and more. devers isn't. devers is a low war player with an attitude.

That's got nothing to do with trying to blame poor team performance on one player. Most fans know that this team suffered because of a terrible bullpen, inconsistent starting pitching and shaky defense. The poor attitude that you say Devers has isn't the reason the team was so bad. He's played 1st base and DH this season and I haven't heard any complaints from him. He had that one time when he was taken out of the game for a pinch runner but that's about it.
A lot of people owe Devers an apology. Lets just hope he starts the season off better next year. He is a stud, and clearly our best player.

Dave Fleming was on 957 today talking about how Devers has become a great leader and is taking the young guys under his wing.

But nah, you know more than Fleming. Cancerous player with an attitude.

I think a lot of opinions about Devers come from the way his time in Boston ended. There was some friction there but the fans loved him. He was a Yankee killer and that was enough for them. He's also not the outgoing type like Adames and his English isn't great so it makes some people think he's not very friendly. All I know is what I see on the field and he's the best power hitter they've had in years. He can hit it out to all fields. If Eldridge can continue to develop they could be a really good 1-2 punch for the next few years.

Discounting the covid season and his first full year as a starter, Devers has never once been a 2 WAR player.

Today's game explains a lot about why the Giants are where they are. The Pirates have 4 runs on 3 hits, all singles with only one to the outfield. All a result of bad pitching (6 walks) and mental mistakes by the Giants.

sounds like you haven't been following the team since the trade, let me explain..

Correlation does not equal causation.

i checked it as i wrote it. the number goes up over time if guys produce, check it in a few days and they'll update it. as of my writing he was 2.7 or 2.8. and chapman is 2.9 and arraez is 3.0.

but arraez 3.0 on the giants page is only from his giants games. so arraez a guy we kicked to the curb and paid maybe 10m is 3.0 in 105 games

and devers is 3.0 in 141 games. and he costs over 200+m. and harrison. and tibbs. so the juice ain't worth the squeeze. that's the point i am making.

dave f and others will glaze the giants as they are the official broadcasters, they aren't gonna go scorched earth on players that are locked up for half a decade for obvious reasons. dave essentially works for sfg and has to interview the guys and so forth, so the ship can be sinking and he'll say it's a good view from out the window as it's going down
Devers just needed to get hot.

and he's scorching.
