and he's scorching.
Unfortunately, like Adames last year, they get scorching hot in August and September. Wind up with the nice individual stats but meaningless for the overall team results. Nevertheless, offensively they are at least somewhat entertaining watching the highlights of the game, which is all I watch. The very sad story is the entire pitching staff; both starters and relievers must be run out of town immediately upon the season's end. Except Webb (with the hope he'll find his consistent All Star grove next year). Who was that Tug shmock pitching today? He's got one pitch in his repertoire; the home run ball served on the platter.

pitching and defense is what works and that's why this team sucks. devers and adames don't help at all in those areas. i mean we watched bonds and kent not win any rings. these guys aren't those guys, not even close. adames is total trash right now. devers i just hope he hits enough that some other team will take his contract in the offseason.

Devers is signed through 2033. I don't know why people want to get rid of the only legitimate power hitter on this team. They have nobody that can replace tha tHR threat at this time. I would like to see him batting behind Eldridge instead of in front of him. Eventually Bryce may become the HR threat but he's still developing. Bo Davidson in AAA may also be someone that can provide power.

Giants fans are derps. They cry for 20 years about not having a 30+ HR power hitter, and they finally get one and they want to trade him.

I was really hoping this Giants team would not lose 100 games this season. But . . .

I agree with that as well. Adames to me is the huge question mark on offensive side of the ball. If they could somehow resign Arraez back, I'll be all for that. Otherwise, I'll pray and bet on internal progress, especially Eldridge, few other guys and consistency in what Chapman, Adames and Devers are CAPABLE of doing. Another mediocre start until August from them, and the Giants are royally screwed going forward. Why am I otherwise leaving offense alone with the prayer on that side of the ball? Because I know Giants will not be allowed, not even close, to financially rebuild both sides simultaneously and the pitching needs rebuild 1000 times more than offense. I am not even sure they'll be allowed to spend enough money to properly rebuild just the pitching staff in one offseason. They need practically the entire pitching staff. A couple of premier starters will already cost an arm and a leg. Not to mention the closer they absolutely must have. Unless they have some total dark surprises somewhere in their systems coming up next year. Not potential, not highly rated in the minors, not down the road. NEXT SEASON, period. Defense? I don't have a slightest clue how to fix that. Ask Buster and Tony that question.

Best player we have had since our dynasty run and our slow fans want to trade him. Ridiculous.

I agree. He has his faults. Like many power hitters he strikes out a lot but when he makes contact he drives the ball. Not many bloop hits. He's near the top of the league in doubles and now has 35 HRs. He drives the ball to all fields. His defense at first isn't great but it's okay. We all hoe Eldridge becomes a hitte rlike him but right now he's not providing the same power as Devers. He's gettig a lot of walks and some base hits but that's not we want from him. He's got to be a power bat. Until he learns to consistently drive the ball with the backspin needed Devers is our only guy.

Since May 1st, Rafael Devers has accumulated 3.9 fWAR and holds a 157 wRC+ (Both lead qualified first basemen).
— Michael Monreal (@ByMMonreal) September 6, 2026
That fWAR mark is the 5th best in the entire sport with the wRC+ sitting at 3rd. #SFGiants pic.twitter.com/U3FnIgCEDh
