Kuiper was pissed lol.
Top 5 payroll in the league and the team is 20-29.

Yeah I don't think I remember them signing off of a broadcast quite like that before. Kruk didn't even say a word

Someone run the numbers. I feel like if you wiped off the blown saves they would be slightly over .500.

I looked it up and even without the blown saves they would be under .500. It looks like they have 5 blown saves which is actually fewer than many teams ahead of them in the standings. I'm a little surprised since it seems like a lot more. Probably because they've blown leads that don't officially count as blown saves. Most people felt the weakest part of this team heading into the season was the bullpen. Specifically the lack of a proven closer. That certainly has been the case.

Not only that, we basically lost our top 3 relief pitchers in the middle of last season (trades and injury), and we decided that we werent going to replace any of them.
So tired of the Tony V slander. He has no chance with this team.

Yeah, pretty stupid of them. Everyone knew it was gonna be an issue except ownership apparently.
I agree about Vitello. I really wanna see him succeed. Hoping he's not a one and done

Just checked the score of today's game, rather than risk going home from work and actually wasting time watching it. So when is it time to let Trevor McDonald have a spot in the rotation, and dump Mahle or Houser? Not sure which of those 2 are s**ttier, it seems like they switch off with each other.

I'm starting to wonder if this team shouldn't become sellers in the 2nd half of the season and start a true rebuild. Trade Chapman, Adames, Devers, Arraez and anyone else they can get good prospects for. I know it's not likely that they would trade all those guys but maybe a couple this year and another one in the off season or next year.
They keep saying they're trying to win now but it's obvious it's not happening. Suck it up and be really bad for a couple years. Rebuild through the farm system like the A's and Marlins seem to do every 2 or 3 years. Of course that may mean rebuilding the scouting as well.
They only have around 30-35 full time scouts after cutting back last year. The Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox have about 70. That's a big difference. It's no surprise that the Giants haven't been able to find the best talent. Eldridge may eventually be a good power hitter in the majors but he'll probably never hit for a high average, steal bases or be a plus fielder. If he can only be used as a DH and a part time 1st baseman then you aren't getting enough from your top prospect.

I'm wondering if those salaries are untradeable ? We would have to eat some of the costs so might as well keep them in that case.
in other news I heard our farm system guys can hit the ball well and lead in several categories. We need pitchers though.
i could see us moving Ray for something before the deadline.
