Scoring with runners on base? What is this voodoo!?

What is really suprising to me is Jung is now hitting .246 and is getting hot. I read in here he was going to hit .160 all year.

You want to know another pattern I'd observed? You come here every time JHL has occasional good game and riding everyone who had dared to criticize his offense. Not a good look either.

He ain't worth what he is getting paid is the problem, he decent at best but at that money you want a guy around .300 and hits 15 bombs atleast

I don't care much about what players are getting paid in baseball since there isn't a salary cap. Is Lee paid too much? Probably but so are most of the players on this team. Whether they have the highest or the lowest salary in the league isn't the issue. Performance is the problem. The Dodgers have the highest payroll and they're players are performing. Other teams with lower payrolls than the Giants are also playing well.

Dude said he should hit .300. Seven (7) qualified players hit .300 or better last year. 7. lmao.

Judge, Bichetter, Jacob Wilson, Springer, Jeremy Pena, Trea Turner and Yandy Diaz. Of those, one didn't hit 15 bombs (Wilson) and one hit 15 (Turner).

Jung Ho Lee had the 45th best BA in all of baseball last year. And was 3rd in xbase hits., with 8 HRs. And I am supposed to take Prime serious when he says he sucks? And when tl says an occasional good game?

lol I think people are watching baseball today and comparing it to 1998.

Why does everyone care about the offensive output from C? Bailey is the best defensive C in baseball, which is far more valuable.

99, because his defense isn't winning games. He is the best defensive catcher in baseball, and good catchers are hard to come by. If he's hitting .230 this is a different story. But he is pretty much an automatic out. And he leaves a lot of RISP. And rarely moves them over. Its usually a lazy ground ball or a fly ball that doesn't move the runner.

His offense is even worse than his .128 BA indicates

He only has 6 hits
Meanwhile, he has hit into 3 double plays so far
He is the closest to a net negative on offense I have ever seen

His defense is one a part of his production behind the plate. Even with ABS, his framing still comes into play. They can't challenge every pitch. He is also calling the games. Baseball has a long history of prioritizing C defense over offense. This lineup is stacked with bats, so Bailey is small potatoes compared to the guys who should be making his offensive production irrelevant.

I agree a catchers defense takes priority over their offense. And Bailey is a great defender, and the best pitch framer in the game. And no doubt makes the giants pitchers better. And the last few years when they had horrible backups, his hitting wasn't in question because he was the best option. And last year over the last month and half, he really came on and I was hoping he would carry that into this year. But he's been horrible at the plate this year. Like really horrible. I'm not saying you bench Bailey, but I am saying if he doesn't pick it up, I think the giants are going to be forced to play Susac more. I am also not really sure Bailey should switch hit. I think he should hit lefty full time and concentrate at getting better overall.
I would say the distance between Bailey & Susac defensively isn't nearly as drastic as the difference between the 2 offensively, obviously. Because of this, and the fact that the Giants have the worst offense in the league last time I checked, I feel Susac needs to be playing a lot more than he currently is.

Yes Bailey is a great catcher. But his hitting is abysmal. It's not like Susac is some little leaguer who would be costing the Giants tons of games behind the plate because he sucks. But his offense could sure help this team a lot right now since they collectively suck ass offensively.

It's worth giving up a little defense because this team needs offense right now. If Susac plays more and eventually comes down to earth they can always go back to Bailey. The other thing to consider is pitcher's preferences. Some may want Bailey when they start.
Susac with another hit.

bailey should be providing susac with rest not the other way around

I was in the park last night for a solid win and a lot of offense. And the usual suspects are absent of course

We need to see more wins like that. Unfortunately those big wins are often followed by 3 games of futility. Sorry but that's been the pattern we've seen so often. Seeing them have a game like last night makes it even more frustrating because it shows they have the ability.

if the playing time starts to reach 50/50 bailey will be on the way out

Giants ' bat boy going viral.
The return on investment for both Houser and Mahle has not been good thus far.
Good job Walker...
The narrative all year has been the hitting underperforming, but this pitching staff is total ass. You cant expect to win with a pathetic group of pitchers like this. How is Walker STILL closing?
