2026 San Francisco Giants Season Thread

Bailey's hitting is just really bad. He's an automatic out. At the end of the year last year he looked like he was figuring it out, but he hasn't built on it. He better start hitting or Susac will start taking innings from him. Bailey was hitless last night and today and before those two games Susac was 7-12 and Bailey was 4-44. So its probably like 9 for 15 and 4 for 60 now (or close).

I will say people thought Bailey would lose value with changes to calling strikes, but he's proving his framing is elite still. They showed a stat yesterday about his framing resulting in balls being called strikes and not being challenged. His hands are just super quick. Except when hitting.

I watched the game. Not sure why he was upset. Miller didn't do anything wrong. Glad the Giants are showing some fight though. They need it
Bailey is almost an automatic out at this point. I would like to see more Susac starts.

Honestly he was puffing a little bit too much, no need for that. Just be happy with the victory

I love his defense but on this roster the catcher has to hit a little bit. When he was drafted bailey was expected to hit at the mlb level, whats exactly gone wrong?

Scoring with runners on base? What is this voodoo!?

What is really suprising to me is Jung is now hitting .246 and is getting hot. I read in here he was going to hit .160 all year.

You want to know another pattern I'd observed? You come here every time JHL has occasional good game and riding everyone who had dared to criticize his offense. Not a good look either.

He ain't worth what he is getting paid is the problem, he decent at best but at that money you want a guy around .300 and hits 15 bombs atleast

Why does everyone care about the offensive output from C? Bailey is the best defensive C in baseball, which is far more valuable.

An occasional good game. lmao. I defend him because a few people don't actually watch the games and post stupid takes. Lee was 3rd in extra base hits last year and hit .266 in his first full year. Of the two people who had more extra base hits, Corbin Carroll was one. The reality is he had a pretty good year last year. Could people criticize him as an OFer that doesn't have a lot of power, sure. But for knucklehead above to repeatedly say "he sucks" is dumb as s**t. He wants a player that hits .300 and 15 bombs. How many people hit .300+ now? Maybe he should look that up before posting uninformed takes.

And I see you love to criticize others but fail to take accountability for your posts. The reality is you are super negative, and post the same s**t every time. And you say me being positive about a giants player isn't a good look. lmao.

99, because his defense isn't winning games. He is the best defensive catcher in baseball, and good catchers are hard to come by. If he's hitting .230 this is a different story. But he is pretty much an automatic out. And he leaves a lot of RISP. And rarely moves them over. Its usually a lazy ground ball or a fly ball that doesn't move the runner.
I will be at the game tonight. Look for a handsome guy in a Will Clark throwback jersey yelling at Lee he better hit .300 with 15 homers or he sucks!

If we see someone passing out after a Lee grand slam, we will know.

I don't care much about what players are getting paid in baseball since there isn't a salary cap. Is Lee paid too much? Probably but so are most of the players on this team. Whether they have the highest or the lowest salary in the league isn't the issue. Performance is the problem. The Dodgers have the highest payroll and they're players are performing. Other teams with lower payrolls than the Giants are also playing well.
