Why do you have to explain why you feel so strongly about her? Um...who else has the ability to answer that question?

I honestly couldn't care less about Nakken, but she seems like she knows her stuff. I have known people who went to Sac St. with her and they all said she is legit. I don't think she would have made it as long under Kapler (she's been in the org since like 2016 or whatever, 4 years before him) if she wasn't bringing value to the team. In Melvin hiring her, that only continues to prove that point.

So basically you are arguing for the sake of arguing, and really have zero knowledge of what she brings to the table. Got it.

You're getting things flipped around, that is what 99 did. Whining about Nakken with no knowledge of the situation. I'm simply calling out his bs.

Has Nakken secretly been the real bench coach this whole time? Otherwise what knowledge of the situation am I missing? She has no legitimate experience. If you think otherwise, you have to bring some kind of proof to your argument. What do you know about her? Why is she qualified? Stop dodging the question and calling me a misogynist instead of giving a real answer.

Which means they will be like "Please come here Shohei! Were desperate! You might be the only star player on the roster, but we'll pay you a ton of money before taxes, and we have a Japanese coach to make you feel at home. Eh? Ehhh?"

To qualify as a legitimate managerial candidate. Obviously. Unless you have some kind of actual counterpoint to this debate, give it up.
Ugh....

Yeah, not sure why we would want to go after a massive upgrade over anything we currently have.

Bellinger would instantly be our best player.

If Bellinger doesn't suddenly fall off a cliff - you would be right. Too much extreme variability for me. Maybe he was just a covid casualty and now he's finally come out of it and back to normal from here on out? My opinion would certainly depend on the contract details, of course. I'm going with the assumption he's getting a hefty deal with at least 4-6 years.
Bellinger would be an upgrade over anybody on the roster right now.

There is no doubt about that but he is likely going to cost more than Yamamoto who I would prefer. I am just sick and tired of not having a stable and solid rotation. With Boras as his agent you know Bellinger will cost a fortune

4-6 years. LOL. He will get way more than that.

Bellinger's first 3 years in the league were amazing. ROY, ASs, and an MVP. In 2020 COVID and a shortened season came and his numbers were just OK. But he was great in the postseason that year for the dodgers. He hurt his shoulder at the end, then played in the WBC and should have got it fixed. Instead, his next year was s**tty with a bunch of trips the DL. He gets his shoulder fixed and gets healthy and he hits .307 with 26 HRs, a bunch of extra base hits, and 20 SBs. And more importantly, played in the most games since his MVP year. And he dropped his SO % way down. His HR numbers were lower but that is because he was hitting the ball more and SOing less, with less velocity.

And he is 28 years old. And he is a plus CF defender.

I am with John. Both Bellinger and Yamamoto are getting around 225-250 million. If the giants are only spending that once, give me the pitcher. If they are spending it twice, give me both. Its not my money.

The biggest thing is can Bellinger stay healthy. If he can, you get a really good CF for years with speed. But that means you have to trade some of our OFers to get other pieces.
