2026 San Francisco Giants Season Thread

there is a dif between maintaining your rotation, and changing it. if you look at 2021, Webb started game 162 and game 1 of postseason, so we went out of our way to get him the ball in g1

that's not what happened with Zito

A couple things.

1) The Giants won every one of Zito's last 11 starts that season (he was 7-0). So your justification for your opinion is the exact same as what I just said about Zito.

2) just because a pitcher is your team's #1, doesn't mean he is a true #1. Every team in baseball has identified a pitcher as their #1. That doesn't mean the pitcher is one.

Look, I like Webb. A lot. I don't want you or anyone else to think that I am s**t talking him or minimizing how good he is. Thats not the case at all. My position is simply he is not a #1 starter. I don't believe a team with Webb as its ace would ever be a World Series contender.
Cmon let's go!

ehhh its still giant baseball. I am not terribly pumped about it, but I have been watching when I can. I like a couple players on the team. I enjoy watching Villar and JD Davis. I like Conforto. I still love Craw even though he's almost done.

Really if this team had a star OF to pair with Conforto and Yaz, and had a real 1B that could hit and defend, it would be a fun team to watch. Wade Jr. has no business playing 1B and no business hitting leadoff. Oh and we def suck at catcher. Sabol looks like he can hit, but he can't frame a pitch to save his life. Could be a good backup but of course he starts on the giants. Starting pitching is fine even though Webb needs to get his s**t straight after his electrifying and brilliant first start loss that only garce loved.

Yeah, I would like to still watch eventually when I get all settled in at my house, and get this VPN setup. I've been back and forth between Phoenix and Vegas the last 2 weeks in between moving into my new house. Last day in the military was yesterday, now I'm in CA visiting and moving the last of my wife's s**t down to Vegas.

I feel this season will be very similar to last season. I got to the point last year where I quit watching, or I would only watch the first few innings then turn something else on.

Hopefully they at least give us SOMETHING to get excited about at some point this season. I've been keeping up with this thread, but haven't watched yet like I said, and this thread definitely has been painting a pretty depressing picture about the Giants lol. Looking forward to the Niners this year for sure.

And, go Kings!

He isn't , he not dominant enough to be a 1, maybe a solid 2 , but he ain't lincecum prime level or Matt Cain prime even… but I'd be happy with him as a 2, he just kinda forced into that one cause he the best we got lol, which is not saying much as we ain't really got much stars on the team anymore
