Good deal for Webb. Now we need an ace and another arm that is around the same #3 caliber as Webb.

There are different levels of top tier SP. You don't have to be Max Scherzer to be considered a 1. Webb isn't a number 3 unless hes in a super rotation. In the last 2 seasons he has a 2.96 ERA as our 1 starter, and he was incredible in the postseason against our biggest rival, so we know he can be counted on in big pressure games. To call him a 3 because he started out with 3 bad starts this year is overly dramatic.

I think he can be a #2. He isn't a #1, and I don't believe he has ever been in that role for us. Rodon and Gausman were clearly the #1s the last 2 years.

There were clearly no such thing. Webb has been opening day starter back to back seasons. He took the ball in the postseason also game 1.

So because Barry Zito was the game 1 starter in the World Series, he was our #1?

Webb was a better pitcher by postseason of 2021. He was 10-0 and hadn't lost since May. He crushed the Dodgers.

there is a dif between maintaining your rotation, and changing it. if you look at 2021, Webb started game 162 and game 1 of postseason, so we went out of our way to get him the ball in g1

that's not what happened with Zito
Side note on Logan's contract:

Estrada with the lead off bomb
It would be cool to watch the game

Estrada is 3-3 and needs a triple for the cycle.
That JD Davis catch will be on the top 10 in the morning
