At this point why don't the Mets just sign the remaining FA?

Apparent we made an offer to Nimmo. Happy they outbid us, but New York has now taken Judge, Nimmo, and Senga from us.
I will never understand the free agent fascination with playing for the Mets. All of the pressure of NYC with none of the legacy or winning.

According to rumors the Giants are interested in Chris Bassitt. He would be a solid signing and step right in to the #2 spot in the rotation. I like their rotation if they can sign him. Add Correa and Bassitt to the Haniger signing and the off season would be a success. Not holding my breath but I do think there is a possiblity on both

Probably more AAV but not the years unless it's 3 maybe 4, Senga always wanted 5 minimum

I'm down with this.
It sucks about Senga. And lol at anyone trashing Kapler. Dude won 107 and 81 games with a AAA roster.

It looks like the Giants made a lot of noise about signing big name players but did nothing to back it up. I keep hearing it's not because of the money so what is it? Maybe thye don't like Kapler's style of micro managing. Maybe the front office just doesn't know how to close.

Mets payroll this upcoming season is $345 million. With the luxury tax it comes out to $421 million.
For reference Dodgers payroll this upcoming season will only be $190 million.

Judge wanted to be in NY. Nimmo got like 70-80 million more than he's actually worth. Not sure about Senga, but considering he was described as a guy who could only go like 4 innings before his stuff started falling off, it's possible that 75 mil was too pricey. With the way we seem willing to spend, he probably just wanted to be in a city like NYC. Some of these big misses aren't necessarily the Giants' fault.
The reality is, were not perennial playoff contenders, our stadium sucks to hit in, CA taxes suck, and our roster isn't very impressive. The Giants might be going all out in these pitches, but were just not a slam dunk destination.

Zero chance we re-sign Rodon.

The next CBA needs to involve a signing period. 2 weeks max. Dragging negotiations out from November through March is ridiculous.

My "quote" feature isn't working right now for some reason.
So, billbird:
In regards to the post where you quoted me a few pages back- I'm not sure how you can still claim that the Giants attendance numbers weren't incredibly low for much of last season. I don't really want to argue about it, enough has been said about it already. But bottom line is, all you have to do is look at the shots of the stadium from last year's games and you can clearly see it. The number of fans actually ATTENDING the games was probably the lowest ever since they moved to that stadium.
Also, not sure what you think you know about me and my stance on politics and how I feel about elections? I've barely ever interacted with you on here, and I've definitely never said anything political to you or anyone else on here for that matter. So I don't know what's up with the political comments to me.
