If we can get the Westbrooks and Tyreek Hills to play soccer growing up, usa could be a top nation in soccer.

By sheer population, it is embarrassing that US soccer is as trash as it is.

With the amount of people in the US, it's ridiculous we have never had an American generational talent.

The US has no one to blame but themselves for that loss. Had numerous golden opportunities in the first half and blew it. The Altadore missed goal was inexcusable

  • USWNT had an absolutely dominant performance. Great match.
  • Watching the Gold Cup final right after the WWC Final I was struck by how much faster the game was.
  • USMNT should have done better. They had every opportunity to win and blew it badly.
  • The officiating in that match was a bit rough. I'm all for "let them play", but that guy didn't card anything.
  • Speaking of officiating, the Copa America is a disaster. Absolutely riddled with officiating issues. Then they go and put an official who had been suspended for 8 months for corruption in charge of the final. Lol wow.
I was watching this game (for once) and was like WTF at all the rough hits, with no calls. Obvious excessive time waisting and more. But, just like in the NFL if you lose a close game because of the refs, you didn't make enough plays to keep the refs from being a factor. They missed so many "Should have been goals" in the first half, where they should have been up 2, or 3-0 at halftime.

It's encouraging to see the MEN's team getting better though. This was a form of the Same mexican team that knocked Germany out of the World Cup, and this is our Men's team that couldn't make the world cup. So any improvement is a huge positive.

Ya crazy how no cards were given out.

They need to bring in euro refs. These refs from these small countries in central and south america are easily corruptable, they barely make any money outside of the big tournaments.

We played okay though. Shouldve brought in Boyd over Zardes though.

He had a great shot there. Too many missed opportunitues in the first 15 minutes. Had Mejico on their heels.

Different team than the WC team. Different system and coach. I like what Mexico is doing with the young talent. The US team has been fun to watch as well. I knew the first true test for both young teams was going to be this final. Its exciting to see the growth from both squads.

Yup couldn't capitalize and them Mexico completely controlled the tempo the entire 2nd half. Entertaining game though

It seems that conditioning became an issue. Plus Mexico had an extra day to rest.

The game was too chippy at times on both sides. But it was entertaining. I cant wait to see this rivalry again.

Yeah, I realize it was different, but it was pretty amazing to see how both performed. They both seemed decent enough to not get embarrassed if they were playing against an Argentina, or Chile.

I like either of these squads against any of the south American teams right now.
Leeds play man united tomorrow in a friendly in Australia the first time we'll have played them since 2011. It's only friendly but they'll be an edge to it.

Here's an article from a man united fan & journalist looking forward to it

Bumping the thread because their isn't much conversation going. [
Thought I'd add an old season review of a premier league season. There are only 9 parts as the first part is blocked due to copy right

Whats gonna happen with Neymar? How does a holdout work in soccer? Do players ever do what Bell did, and just sit out a whole year? And wtf is his deal lol, didnt he just sign there last season?

I better get an answer to each question

Bayern v Real Madrid was fun to watch. Both teams were playing like it was a real competition

Back in the day the clubs used to have the power & if there was a fall out or the player wanted to leave & the club refused the player would have 2 options either accept & get his head down & work hard to get back into the team or he'd sit & rot in the reserves & train with them until the the club decided to sell.

As more money came into to football the players started having more control as they were comfortable with wages not to care if they were playing or not as they'd already had enough, & on top of that the players are worth much more they can't see the price of player go down so have to sell or they know they'll lose money.

The first player I remember going on strike was in 98/99 it's in those videos I posted the other day. A Dutch player called Pierre van hidonk he refused to come back & play for Nottingham forest & didn't come back until October, he played because they were in relegation trouble & actually scored in his first game back but none of the players celebrated with him. He eventually was sold after the season finished. For much less than he was worth at the start of the season just to get rid of him.

So nowadays the players have the power knowing the clubs won't want to risk losing value on the player. So the players always get their move in the end.

I do wish clubs would show some balls though & just flat out refuse players moves & tell them they're staying & if they don't like it they can train with the youth team & reserves for the remainder of their contract
