The top athletes in most countries play soccer. In the U.S. they play basketball, football and baseball.
Thinking back to my high school soccer team, there were four or five guys that thrived in other sports. My guess is that would be the norm at a lot of schools.

Imagine LeBron James, Saquon Barkley, Rob Gronkowski, Odell Beckham Jr, Bobby Wagner and Harrison Smith on a soccer field.
Not all of those guys would thrive in the sport obviously but I think enough would to make the U.S. one of the top teams in the world.
