Super bummed to hear about the latest health issues affecting Fresno State Football Coach
Jeff Tedford, but it also helps explain a late season collapse and three straight losses.
I had a strong suspicion that something wasn't right. A very focused and strong team was suddenly unfocused and sloppy. The first sign that something wasn't right was a blowout loss to San Jose State, a game that was not even close. The Bulldogs followed that stinker up with a home loss to New Mexico. The Bulldogs had not lost to New Mexico, at home no less, since 1994.
I suspect this is the same heart issue that plagued Tedford during his time at Cal, later as OC of the Tampa Bay Bucaneers, and in his first stint as Bulldogs HC that ended when he stepped away in 2019.
Tedford is stepping away from the upcoming bowl game that Fresno State will play in later this month. But it's unknown if he will be replaced as HC. My guess is that may happen. Time will tell.
