Summer Games destroy the Winter Games. I barely pay attention to the winter games. Will definitely watch:
- Sprints, hurdles, short distance races
- All Swimming
- Gymnastics
- Beach Volleyball
- Women's soccer (bite me)
I have watched some of the other stuff if I'm bored. Other track & field stuff, water polo, triathalons, any type of field game etc.
And yeah, there's always kind of car crash sentiment to the games. Beijing had smog, Sochi's snow, etc. People are definitely looking for a train wreck.
Olympics barely registers on my interest meter...for summer since my kids are competitive swimmers and water polo players I'll pay some attn to those sports, maybe a little basketball but that's about it. I'm a ski nut so I pay a little more attn to Winter Olympics, mainly skiing events, especially downhill...used to worship Bill Johnson, too bad his life basically went to s**t after Olympics.
