Is it close enough to start an official Olympics thread yet? If not, this can be the pre-thread. This is what is greeting visitors showing up in Rio. I hope these games do not have any major incidents.

You all remember this? the SF Bay area bid for the 2016 games. I bet the IOC wishes they had given it to them now.

nah..any major holiday or multi-day huge event makes my life hell at work. Especially in summertime

We didn't need this one in the SF Bay Area, profits be damned. lol.

Rio is super dangerous. A lot of crime and bad problems.

Some athletes that have arrived early have already been robbed. Including a female Paralympic athlete at gunpoint in broad daylight.
