i feel the same way as the OP.
and it's hard to argue against that, because boxing has been such a big part of american culture, and other countries cultures, it's hard to unseat that mentality. but at this rate, especially in america and this younger generation (who have had little exposure to boxing for most of their lives) they can easily lose this audience, and then their kids won't even know wtf boxing is.
boxing has done a huge disservice to itself by taking themselves of off prime time television, and then charging outrages prices for above average fights. NFL, NBA, have become a huge success because of its availability for everyone to watch. and even for the UFC, just like boxing, if they don't have some crazy personalities out there, they don't sell that well either.

MMA: most of the damage is superficial. In Boxing, a lot of the damage is neurological.

Never been able to get into MMA. Boxing does suck now but I'd rather watch it than MMA. Not a fan of all that wrassling, oh and dudes breaking legs and arms, not for me.

Sums it up for me. Grappling just isn't entertaining to me.

MMA… but I also used to train back in the day.
Boxing can be entertaining but Mayweather is a bore, MP no longer has his mystique and the klitchko Bros outsize everyone in HW… and there is no one in the junior ranks that looks like it can change it.
MMA is much more unpredictable, and just has a better chance of epic fights and upsets than boxing has nowadays.

When I was younger it was boxing. Not the same draw anymore, and the preflights suck.
MMA is more exciting, the the under cards are almost always great. You get 5-7 fights, vs 2-3 in boxing. And only the main fight in boxing is worth it.
MMA does a good job connecting with fans, free fights on fox, etc. Boxing used to have great fights on HBO, SHOWTime, Friday night fights, and even Sunday afternoon boxing.
Boxing has way too many belts now, with too many holders. Also, HBO guys can't fight showtime guys, etc. s**ts corrupt because they let it get this way.
Still love boxing, but MMA has the edge for me.
