Wow....certainly news to me. I've never paid a cover to go to BWW to watch PPV fights before....unless they just weren't on PPV and I didn't realize that Is that just PPV? Is NFL Sunday Ticket not the same thing because I've gone to plenty of bars and watched the games with no cover charges...

Yes, in regards to fights it pertains to PPV. For Sunday ticket I am not sure how that works. ATT may be able to answer that one

The local general store owner who's also the doctor, vet and gas station attendant prob just brings his DTV receiver down to the cabin for the night.
lol
i don't know if he will be able to watch while making all that moonshine
I don't make moonshine, but I have bought bootleg untaxed moonshine, oddly enough the stuff isn't cheap, $20 for a quart mason jar full.

Do you still have your eyesight?
It is bad at 20-400, but I have worn glasses since I was 10 years old, it hasn't gotten worse. I actually first drank moonshine when I was 20 living in California and I am now 56 living in Virginia. When I was 20 I was self employed as I am now but I was cutting firewood for a living. I was in the SoCal mountains cutting wood with an almost full truck when a guy approached me and said "I would like a load or two of that firewood, but don't have much money and would like to trade for it." Long story short this guy was straight out of the Beverly Hillbillies. I followed him to his cabin and sampled his wares, strangest feeling I ever had from ingesting alcohol, tasted kind of nasty taking it straight but 5 minutes later it felt like a painkiller shot (like getting some pre-surgery Demerol). I made the guy a deal for 3 cords split and stacked oak for 20 gallons (four 5 gallon Sparkletts bottles) of moonshine. At the time I lived on a large property that was owned by my girlfriend's mother and I ran my business from there. The rules were you had to hand over your keys before you sampled the moonshine as there were plenty of room for overnight guests.
I was a heavy drinker in those days, but I do remember that stuff sneaking up on me and causing be to take a bath for the first time in ages because I could not stand up in the shower.

Think Conor got $3m for his last fight and that was the most ever for a MMA fighter.

He's lookin for dat pot of gold!

IIRC it was 3.5 million guarantee plus PPV points. Probably made somewhere around 10 million total.

Dana White and the Fertitas (before they sold the company) are the real moneymakers in that business.

I admittedly am not much of an MMA fan, but I did watch 4 1/2 hours worth of one fight after another yesterday on Fox. Most of the matches were guys around 155 pounds or lower. They were mostly guys ranked top 10 or close to that so they weren't scrubs, most guys boxed 80% of the time. I didn't see one guy display anything resembling even the average defensive skills of a boxer in those weight classes. Pretty sure McGregor has surrounded himself with top notch boxing people, even considering that I would believe it impossible to completely erase the muscle memory and instincts of almost dozen years competing in MMA, especially in a time of only a few months. That will be especially true if he gets tired or hurt, that is definitely when auto pilot kicks in. As I said before, anybody but Mayweather and the guy has a chance. I don't understand why this match was made. Put a Marvin Hagler or Duran clone in there, a guy who many times leads with his chin and will take a punch to give one.

best boxer in the UFC is a woman.

McGregor is estimated to make 5x more for this fight than any of his UFC fights. UFC stars don't make as much as a top boxing draw because of the monopoly UFC has on the biz. Dana sets their rate/ salary/ opponents. In boxing there's promotions but it's all open competition, and everyone knows how much money is being drawn which gives the fighters more leverage to negotiate their purse.
