That's the excuse my roommate dropped for ordering this fight, and yeah it was nice to see some people I hadnt seen in months. Just wish it wasnt for something as hyped as this bs. If you think thats why Im hating, you dont know me very well.

I was just messing with you bro... thing was way overhyped and the marketing/PR work to make the public think mcgregor had a chance was amazing. UFC bros thought he was gonna win lol

Never thought once he was gonna win, it was just as I expected. Just didn't think Mayweather was gonna box like a girl for the first 6 round and keep turning his back on McGregor. This boxing match certainly wasn't worth the hype or the money both were overpaid.

McGregor was circling to Floyds back. He said it himself in the post fight interview. That's what happens when you haven't had one amateur fight. You dont understand the game. Fight was definitely worth the money. Very entertaining

I gotta agree with that, the hype they built around this boxing match like it was gonna be an all out war or something!!! This type of event doesn't happen all the time, let it go and let'em fall.

It's an understandable comment coming from a MMA fighter out of his element but he wasn't protecting himself anymore in boxing that's the end. Too many guys have had their brains scrambled before their legs gave out.

This. You saw the same exact thing in the under card Badu Jack fight

Ref saved Conor from unnecessary head trauma

As rubs said, this was strictly an entertainment fight and personally I enjoyed it and it brought attention to both sports.

Lol this. The bitterness is strong on both sides, pretty lame. I personally enjoy both sports and have the utmost respect for the skill set involved in each sport

Does anyone know what the "I made you fight like a Mexican" comment meant?

The only thing I thought of was because Mayweather was on the offensive instead of the normal defensive style.

Anyone know?

Mexican fighters are known to employ a much more aggressive approach

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the fact that Mexican boxers are aggressive.

Not bitter at all, just got annoyed a little but I'm over it, glad the fiasco is done. Now both fans can go their separate ways.

That's the funniest thing Ive been hearing the last 17 years is Boxing is dead. Boxing isn't going anywhere, just like MMA isn't going anywhere either. I am a fan of both and I just love fights, but I'm a boxing fan since 1988, it's a sport that I was involved in growing up. I'm sure I would've competed in MMA also, but I was too old by the time it got popular. We did bash each other's face back in 1994 when we watch the first UFC video.
But when I hear people say that the fight was stopped too soon and in MMA they recover faster...LMAO. Mcgregor didn't think it was stop too soon during the fight. He was being cradled by the ref like a little baby and his mouth wasn't even popping off. LMAO

Let him die like Tim Haugue?

Mcgregor was just using that face to fist technique. Had him right where he wanted him

People don't realize that boxing is a lot more dangerous then MMA. If you get hurt in MMA the fight is pretty much over. You don't take multiple huge shots while hurt, you don't get that huge damage while fatigued.

In boxing, you get hurt multiple times throughout the fight. You fight through it. By the end of the fight you've taken multiple shots to the head. If you get gassed, brain damage is multiplied significantly. The ref gave McGregor almost 3 rounds to recover. His legs where gone. He kept taking multiple shots to the head. That's the time in the fight where guys die in the ring. They can barely stand, use the opponent or ropes to stay up, and just get beat all around the ring. McGregor would of fallen, gotten up and kept getting killed. Even in the 10th round, the ref gave McGregor 3 tries to defend himself, and he didn't

-the phrase ,"Mexican style ,"in boxing made popular by Gennady Golovkin.

Where you box toe to toe , not running ,ducking etc.

Mexican style has been around longer than that.

Casual fans speaking like they know the sport.

What are you talking about?
Anyway. The fight went as expected. Floyd found a way to win. McG hung in there but was really out of his element. Floyd made some money. McG made some money. Everyone should be happy.
