I will say the Yankees from 1996-2000 won 4 Titles with mostly home grown talent, key trade acquisitions and great team chemistry
Post 2001 the Yankees tried to buy the World Series Title and only succeeded once.
The Dodgers may try to buy themselves World Series Titles but I don't think they will be successful. I don't think Carl Crawford will help, or Josh Becket, I expect Adrian Gonzales to regress substantially over the last couple year of his contract, Hanley Ramirez is a big diva etc. Bottom line is you still need to have team chemistry and we able to work together well as a team. This is something money won't buy. The Dodgers can try to buy a title every year if they so wish to and I will be laughing very hard at the Dodgers when they fall on their face in their failed effort to buy a title every year.
