I don't why so many people are calling Coffee names and s**t. That's childish.

So he doesn't want to play football anymore? Big deal. That's his choice.

He was an average running back who is easily replaceable. Him leaving doesn't hurt this team in the slightest.

I wish Glen Coffee well with whatever he plans on doing.

why am I hearing the local news that there is a chance he might come back???

the local NBC affiliate reported that he retired in the beginning of the news program, but said stay tuned....that there is a chance the story is not finished yet.

why not let this be what it is? Coach said that coffee told him his heart has not been in football since college. All of you that are posting bad things about the man needs to STFU. you are an embarrassment to fans.

You have got to be kidding. This kid KNEW his heart wasn't in it and he KNEW he would be wasting any team's time by joining the league, but he did it anyway. You expect anybody to be happy with him just because he decided he'd rather do something else? We WASTED a 3rd round pick! He deserves everything that's being said about him for the fact HE KNEW BEFOREHAND.

Doesn't evidence suggest otherwise. Didn't he work pretty hard in the off season?

According to Singletary, Coffee said he knew he wasn't into football even in college, and that's WHY he declared himself eligible for the draft. He knew, he shouldn't have screwes with any team knowing he wasn't into the game. Deep down, he always KNEW he was going to quit.

Actually, he did hurt the team. That wasted 3rd round pick could have been used on someone else who could help the team by not quitting.

I understand wishing the man well and all, but don't act like there's no reason to be upset.

Do the Niners get any comp pick for losing Coffee?

I don't think so.

Comp picks are usually awarded for FAs who leave the team.

It's like they're crying/begging for help (hoping we get injuries and this kinda stuff)...

Yeah, they pretty much said themselves (THEY'RE DESPERATE)!

We could've had some kind of a three-headed monster (Gore//Dixon), but for the time being, it's looking more like a two-headed or one and one-half headed monster, hopefully Dixon gets it together and we pick up one of these guys - Stecker/Westbrook/Bell.

He did work hard and gained a lot of muscle in just a matter of months... I don't think he took an illegal substance, but just sayin.

It's all speculation/rumors; God calling; haunting stuff from Alabama days might hit the fan; wasn't in his heart/just wanted a paycheck-bounce later; And I'm sure there's more.

I don't really care, I just want to know the juicy details. His absence will just be one of our own's gain (hopefully Dixon).
Wow...

Yawn!
