yeah it was Bradley....and another player for us was held as well......the ref still has not said what the call was, because it sure wasnt offsides.....im still pissed.

Crazy ass game. Great effort by the US, but I still feel deflated.

There's a few ways for us to get through. I'm thinking if Algeria can manage a point today, it would be best for us.

Slovenia - 4
US - 2
England - 2
Algeria - 1

Then no matter what happens, we're in contention with a win. And if Slovenia/England don't tie, we're in with a win.

Oh well, too many scenarios right now to speculate.

that shoulda been a goal because Edu came from behind the defense to score. If Bradley was fouled on that play then the ref wouldnt have marked it if the linesman hadnt called offsides, he didnt mark the foul anyways either way. But usually refs dont call off the ball fouls inside the box, especially during a WC.

Assuming England wins today:

We know that the U.S. will have to win against Algeria. Otherwise the U.S. is out.

That would give them 5 points.

If there is a result in the England/Slovenia game, the U.S. will be in as the 2nd seed.

If the England/Slovenia game ends in a draw that will leave all three teams with 5 points. So, then it comes down to tie breakers. The tie breakers are total goal differential, then total goals scored. If the teams are STILL tied after these tie breakers (which is very possible since the U.S. earned a draw with each) it comes down to total goal differential between the teams involved, then total goals scored between the teams involved.

This means that basically we need an American win and (if England is going to win) for England to win by as little as possible. If Algeria somehow pulls out a draw or win against England, the U.S. is in with a win next week regardless of the other game.

That's the key. OFF THE BALL. A lot of sh*t was going on, most of it Slovenians man-handling Americans, but it was all OFF THE BALL. There was no need for a call there. Edu ran unimpeded and finished. Goal.

even if its off the ball its still a foul. most refs just dont call it inside the box though.

commentators were saying something during the match about having a special official placed specifically behind the net for such set pieces to watch/rule for such fouls. i believe they said it had already been tested in the Euro Championships and should be implemented in the WC...
