Oklahoma City Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced today that the team has acquired guard Eric Maynor from the Utah Jazz in exchange for the draft rights to Peter Fehse. To consummate the transaction the Thunder also assumes the contract of forward Matt Harpring. Harpring will not report to Oklahoma City. “We are pleased to add Eric Maynor to our organization,” said Presti. “Eric possesses a work ethic and team first mentality that we feel will help us in our continued growth.”

Though getting Harpring off the books is good, I really don't like to see Maynor get traded. He played really well when Williams was out, and it leaves us with Ronnie Price as our backup PG.

Who the f**k is Peter Fehse? This is one of the dumbest trades I've heard of. Kevin O'Conner should be fired for this. Maynor has been awesome this year and a helluva lot better then f**king Ronnie Price. I don't understand this at all. We just gave a division rival a helluva backup pg for garbage.

It sounds like a cap dump off to me. It's frustrating but it's understandable. Utah's not in position to pay the luxury tax.

and the team continues to play like s**t. The bench just hasn't been the same since we lost Maynor at point. Price just isn't cutting it. I'm kinda hoping Miami doesn't guarantee Carlos Arroyo's contract. I wouldn't mind seeing him come back as our backup. Just anything to replace Price.

Jazz are willing to trade everyone BUT Deron.

I hope we get something done. The last few weeks have been tough to watch.

The Jazz lost to the Hornets on Monday night, their third straight defeat and fifth in their last seven games.

"We're not playing well together, as a team," said point guard Deron Williams. "We don't have that same continuity, that same consistency, that we've had in the past. It just seems like we're not together right now.

"We're not taking the right shots. We're passing when we're not supposed to, not passing when we're supposed to. So, it's been frustrating."

C.J. Miles doesn't think the Jazz can be more frustrated than they are right now.

"The frustration level, I don't think you can really even gauge where it is right now. It's as high as it can be," the swingman said.

The Jazz are 18-16 and currently sit in ninth place in the Western Conference.

Something needs to happen this team isn't gonna get into the playoffs the way they're playing right now. They're a helluva lot better then they're playing but for whatever reason the chemistry is just not there anymore. Boozer needs to go I think and getting rid of Korver for a 2nd round pick or something would free up more time for CJ, Wesley, and Ronnie. Its just embarassing to watch this team at the moment.

Gaines becomes the fourth D-League Call-Up to the NBA this season.

Gaines (6-1, 185, Georgia) is currently averaging 23.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.9 assists through 14 games with Idaho this season. Gaines, who has led the Stampede to a 9-5 record, currently ranks fifth in the D-League in scoring, third in assists and third in steals (2.29). The guard has scored a season-high 31 points on four occasions and dished a season-high 12 assists twice. Gaines was named the D-League’s Co-Performer of the Week for games played during the first 10 days of the season after averaging a league-leading 27.0 points while shooting 60 percent (38-of-63) from the field and handing out 8.3 assists.

The Jamaica, New York, native was selected by the Idaho Stampede in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 D-League Draft. He spent the 2008-09 campaign in Italy with NGC Cantu, averaging 13.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 30 games. A 2008 graduate of the University of Georgia, Gaines spent four seasons with the Bulldogs averaging 11.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists. The guard led Georgia to the 2008 Southeastern Conference (SEC) men’s basketball title.
