One player who hasn't slowed down in the past week is you guessed it, Carter who continues to rake at AA.
6/13 in his last three games after tonight's 2/5 with 2B/HR/3 RBI performance.
.337/.435/.576 with 41 2Bs/2 3Bs/24 HRs/101 RBIs and 13 SBs for the season now.
At 22 still, won't turn 23 until this DEC, he's leading or at the top of almost every offensive category at AA.

DLS is back after a month long absence. Actually came back on 8/9. Had a rough outing TUE with 1.2 IP, 5 hits, 2 ERs, BB, 4 Ks.
But for the year, he's done a good job after missing a full year basically because of TJS.
-9.2 IP, 12 hits, 4 ERs, 2 BBs, 14 Ks, 3.72 ERA, 1.46 WHIP
...giving up more hits than you want although he's K'ing more than one per IP which is a great sign and both are something that he did last year at A+ before he went down with the elbow injury.
He'll be 24 heading into next season, A's probably will develop him as a reliever in the minors but could make it back as a SP in the bigs. A's may even stretch out his arm bit by bit later in 2010 and see if he can handle the IP just as Leon, has shown late this season in the minors.
Leon TUE night had his roughest outing but still good...
5 IP, 3 hits, 0 ERs, 3 BBs, 3 Ks
...in 5 GS this season, Leon's line is...
-21.2 IP, 11 hits, ER, 5 BBs, 18 Ks, 0.42 ERA, 0.74 WHIP
...pretty impressive for a kid who won't turn 21 until the first week of this upcoming SEP.
Hunter also back after the A's moved him down to the AZL and so far good results. 3.2 IP, 0 hits, ER, BB, 4 Ks in three outings.
With DLS, Leon, Hunter, Ross, Simmons, Marks, Capra, Mortenson...the A's do have some depth with potential SP prospect over the next few years but don't think as prospects they'll be seen as better than the current group we have with MAC and Gio.

That AAA SAC team offensively could be loaded thru out 2010...
Carter-1B/DH/OF
Wallace-3B/1B/DH
Doolittle-1B/OF
Brown-OF
Cardenas-2B/SS/3B
Donaldson-C/3B
Peterson-1B/OF
Spencer-OF/DH
Weeks-2B
...pretty sure Desme whos AUG #s at A+ right now are better than his July #s which were very good, if he's doing well at AA, he'd get promoted sometime maybe in June-August especially if guys like Doolittle and Wallace are promoted as they'd be IMO the most likely to reach the bigs out of the names listed above.

Talk about falling off the radar. Damn, they even misspelled the guy's name.
Return to A's is not in Cro(w)by's future...LOL

2009 season is almost over so you only have to wait another season before that 2011 date!

Nice to see Cahill finishing up strong.
Last four starts now has a 2.33 ERA/1.04 WHIP.
Would be nice to see he and Anderson reach that 10 win mark, if they played on any other teams really this season up till now, they'd probably have surpassed that mark already...that's how good both have been at times during this season where they've just dominated the opposition.
But I think they'll both get shut down soon so to save their arms this rookie season.
But to see Cahil and Anderson finishing off the season strong, Anderson been dominating for the most part the past few months, while also seeing Gio step up big time over the past two months gives me hope as an A's fan about the rotation in upcoming seasons.
Also don't forget Braden pitching like at least a #3 for all of this sesaon and Outman who broke out as a SP this season but a shame he'll need TJ and probably won't be close to his 09 form until two years from now during midway-late 2011.

Not a great day WED for the A's minors, some bright spots though...
-Desme 2/3 with two HRs, has now 31 HRs/40 SBs now with a line of .356/.456/.690 iwth 14 BB/18 K ratio which is impressive ratio for him, last ten games it's better with a 9 BB/6 K ratio, hopefully he can improve on that heading into 2010 at AA. Can't remember the last time the A's had a prospect with this much power/speed, albeit it's still at A/A+ ball Desme did this in at age 23.
-Weeks went 2/4 with a HR/4 RBIs. Been pretty blah since moving to AA this AUG.
-Carter/Wallace/Cardenas at AAA didn't do much Thursday night.

Watching Comcast Central this morning, didn't watch it last night but really, could they basically give the middle finger to the A's org and fans.
To relegate the A's highlights with the LAA Thursday to the very last segment is disgraceful. True the A's aren't going anywhere this season but telling me 3 or 4 different segments of the SFG, Niners, Raiders, even showing the damn Dodgers/Rockies/Marlins highlights because it means SOOOO much for SF, and an interview with the SJ head coach should all be aired before the A's highlights appear.
And when they did show the highlights, it was only three clips. The HR by Sweeney, the great play up the middle against Suzuki, and the last play of the game. Really, couldn't show a few highlights of Cahill who pitched a great game against whom many consider right now to be the best team in the bigs or at least one of the best teams.
This makes me all but root against SF even more cause got the feeling that the show, which airs on CSNBA which is partially owned by SF...gets some orders from the "bosses" because the lack of respect and the biased shown against the A's is getting really obvious on that station.
And I've seen a biased on a sports station before so I know what I'm seeing is true, hello ESPN and how they just ram thru everything NYC and BOS sports, and I'm seeing it here locally now.
