Are you freaking kidding me? Pretty sure that guy has started and sucked for almost every team in mlb lol.
A's overpaid but got their boy:

A’s Sign Stassi For $1.5 Million

The Athletics have signed Yuba City (Calif.) High catcher Max Stassi for $1.5 million. That breaks the fourth-round bonus record set just a few days ago by the Royals’ Chris Dwyer at $1.45 million.

yay! I could really careless if we payed an extra 1 or 2 thousand more than his true value was. We signed a first round calibre player and that's something to get excited about especialy with the likely signing of Green.
Great move. Stassi considered to be the best high school C from the past draft and was projected to be a mid to early 20s type pick but dropped because of signability issues.

Green next, hopefully Krol signs too soon.
Gammons blog...

Quote:
Oakland (USC SS Grant Green, 13th pick) and St. Louis (RHP Shelby Miller, the 19th pick) are considered locks to get done.

Gammons on SC maybe a half hour ago said the A's and Green probably won't sign, this after a few hours ago where he said it's a "lock" so who the hell knows what's going happen.

If the A's don't sign Green, they will get the 14th pick next year in the 2010 draft along with the potential top ten pick in next year's draft. Next year's draft is supposed to be better in terms of positional talent but I'd still want Green to sign and be the SS of the future for this org, something I don't think they have.

Yes Pennington has looked good so far and the A's traded for Ladendorf although he isn't doing all that well, also signed VENZ SS prospect Salano for 7 figures but he's projected by many as a guy who probably won't have the athleticism to stay at SS and may have to move to 3B or even the OF long term.

But IMO, Green is a top flight talent and hate not to sign him. Although if he's asking for 6 or so million which are the reports, and that is money given to top 3 picks in this draft...maybe it's wise not to sign him since the A's got a "first round" talent in Stassi already but I'm greedy and I want BOTH!
Although with potentially a handful of teams not signing their picks also in front of Green, the A's two picks could end up outside the top ten yet again.

f**king Borass.

Think like what Washington did. They took a guy who wasn't top 10 worthy because they could sign him. If they don't sign Green I bet the A's do the same thing.

Please f*cking sign Green.
PIT did the same thing too as the rumors were they were saving up to sign Sano who still remains unsigned currently.

But both MIN and WAS I believe have paid out a lot of over slot bonus draftees.

A's haven't other than Stassi.

Come on, Green and Krol.
Goldstein on his twitter says the A's signed Krol and he's surprised!

Wow, I had lost a bit of hope in signing him.

Now go sign Green now!
925K for Krol which is about 300K plus more than the reported offer about a week ago.

That's supp round money, which is a huge surprise, but I guess the A's brass really like Krol who after his junior year in high school was one of the top IL prospects in the state.
Fosse on TV just announced it.

Green signs!

Green, Stassi, Krol.

Waaaaaay overpayed for him. Guess they were desperate to sign someboy else with Green not being signed.

Good luck even being a top 20 pick next year Green. You;ll end up with less money than if you had signed with us.

......okay pep talk over......pleeeeease sign Green,
Yay it worked!!!!
