I'm guessing we can afford Crosby now if we wanted to trade away multiple 1st rounders and a 2nd. I'm really curious if the offers have come down and if the Raiders are entertaining them.

I would think so, and I would do it.

Draft isn't a sure thing.

Not sure I would give up a second round pick though, just the two first rounders if that.

Don't trade multiple first rounders for a player that may have injury issues just because you have the cap space. Use it elswwhere or roll it over into next season when Nick will be owed $54 million and Brock's salary is also going up.

Rolling it over makes no sense, they just rolled it back by restructuring Bosa.

If you wanted cap space next year, you don't restructure Bosa this year.

They're trading for Myles Garrett, book it.

Yes. Give them 3 1st round picks. IDC.

What am I missing? Spotrac shows the Niners as having $46m in space but that doesn't take the salaries of Evans, Hobbes, Tonges, Greenlaw,Tooth etc. into account. Wouldn't those eat up most of the space?

is it possible they are just moving some money because they no longer believe they are going to restructure Trent's deal? Planning on letting him play this year at the $39m cap # before moving on next year?

I'm not saying that's why they did it but it gives them a little flexibility. They may sign someone this year but if not they can roll that money into next season. They'll need it. They always do with all the big salaries they have.

We don't have too many big salary guys since we are no longer carrying Deebo & B.A's salaries.

Big salary guys, based on what we consider "big salary", mainly just our highest paid guys:

Kittle
B.A (won't be on the team long)
Bosa
Purdy
T.W
F. Warner

I think Dak has a higher salary than any two of these guys combined (exaggeration), so I wouldn't say we have too many highly paid guys. Am I wrong here?

Actually it's quite common for teams to do this as the fact is they saved over $17m while only adding $4m or so to Bosa's cap hit in 2027 so teams have commonly done this not that I agree with it every time tho

I think Osa has a higher cap hit than Kittle. CMC, and Evans will be another two.
ms are in for Mike Evans, got a $12M signing bonus, $12.05M option bonus in 2027, $10.95M option bonus in 2028, $1.3M, $1.5M & $1.7M base salaries, $850K per game roster bonuses & $100K workout bonuses, $16.3M GTD, $14.3M of it fully GTD, $4.25M, $7.31M, & $9.7M cap numbers, $20.79M dead money hit in 2029.

Terms for Jake Tonges are in, got a $2.615M signing bonus, $2.2M option bonus in 2027, $340K per game roster bonuses, $50K workout bonuses, $1.145M & $1.26M base salaries, $5.45M fully GTD, $2.058M & $2.613M cap numbers, $3.329M dead money hit in 2028.

Terms for Brett Toth are in, got a $1M signing bonus, a $1.215M base salary, a combination of $285M in per game roster bonus & workout bonus, not 100% sure what they are, likely $235K per game roster bonus & $50K workout bonus or $260K per game & $25K workout bonus, $2.5M cap number, no future dead money as of now.

Have the 49ers, before deals for Dre, Hobbs, Gifford, Waitman & Kirk are known, $42.078M under the cap, much more than I expected right now, but the 49ers did have some players' cap numbers go down due to injuries resulting in signing bonus proration adjustments, most notable Kittle, & Brock.

For 2027 they'd be about $14.159M over with 33 players signed, but that includes Aiyuk still, which saves the team $20M with a post June 1 move, putting them about $5M under next year before any carryover, but doesn't include Gifford's deal, I'm suspecting that only Dre's contract might have void years, I doubt Hobbs, Kirk, or Waitman got them, maybe Gifford, but that's such a low deal that it shouldn't.

So we aren't in a good position next year at this point?

we are going all in on a SB run this upcoming season!

Trent and McCaffrey still will have their deals adjusted so room will clear come next offseason. If you roll a significant chunk over from season they should still end up with a decent amount of room. Won't be a big player in FA in 27 though

Didn't say that, they save $20M in 2027 by cutting Aiyuk pre June 1, and should rollover $20M or more into 2027, so that would give them like $25M in cap room, plus they have deals in 2027 they can redo to create massive cap room, Osa, Brock, Bosa, Warner, Kittle, DMo, McKivitz, CMC all have high base salaries that can be converted into bonus and create significant cap room, it won't be an issue at all.
