I would prefer to just clean up the books asap and use the added money and next year's draft to retool the team a little more. We Need Tackle, Guard, Center, WR, CB, and DE, DE, DE and more DE. I think a decent draft and adding 2-3 younger Free agents to the mix can be done without killing the plan to get younger. BA I wish him health but kind of hope he just sucks somewhere else going forward.

Found this:
https://overthecap.com/49ers-void-brandon-aiyuks-2026-guaranteed
"Aiyuk currently counts for $15.39 million on the 2026 salary cap. If the 49ers release him outright they will take on a salary cap charge of $29.585 million. If the team opts to make him a post June 1 designation the cap charges will be $13.325 million in dead money for 2026 and $21.248 million in 2027. They would also receive a $4.987 million credit on their 2027 salary cap if they did a post June 1 release. If the issues with Aiyuk are still ongoing the 49ers could look to claw back some of their bonus money which would reduce these numbers. I believe for that to happen they would probably need to suspend him."

Just take the cap hit next year. Don't even wait for June. Just cut ties and move on. The reality is the window is closed. They aren't winnig a chip this year or next. I believe the FO sees this as well.

We must be at 95 mil in dead money this year. What's it going to be next year?
No wonder York won't let these fools spend money.

That's the Giants team that wrecked Brady's perfect season by rushing 4 and Strahan and Tuck sacked and harassed Brady. They also had some crazy catches down the stretch.
We don't have a pass rush so our best bet is to have Brock ball out like he did the second half of the championship game against the Lions.

I keep hearing that we are $50 million under the 2026 Salary Cap.
Could we get more cap room by rolling over $ or making other moves?

The near $56M I have them under includes their near $20M in carryover, plus protected adjustments, like the projected $9M from Bosa's injury policy they took out on him, they probably get back more if they took one out on Aiyuk.
Just note that if they do release or trade Aiyuk pre June 1 they end up losing around $15M in cap room for 2026 but they gain over $40M in both 2027 & 2028, 2027 is super important as they're up against the projected cap for 2027, so that $40M+ will help.

Sites I'm looking says of he's pst June 1 they gain 7mil in 26, 33 in 27 34 in 28
also if they are currently at 19, projected to have 37 next year, without bosa insurance, wouldn't that put them at roughly 65mil? Ty

Yes, but not until 2027 most likely.

Dang, better than nothing!
Anyhow it still seems like we are in decent cap shape overall. I dont expect any home run FA swings but maybe could afford something better than luke Farrell this year. Really need to restock depth at lb
