I'll make this simple, the 49ers just traded Deebo for a 5th and lost $15.68M in cap room for 2025, gain $33M in 2026.

You guys are wayyyy too worried about dead cap.
1) it's not real cash being paid out
2) they can EASILY carve out the space with the right extensions and restructures.
That's exactly how they got into this mess.

It lessened his cap last year which they rolled over into this year. And that partially offsets his dead cap now

I'm not sure the dead cap piece is that significant.
Niners lose space this year, but gain space in 2026. They can easily weight the Kittle & Purdy extensions so they are light in 2025 and heavy in 2026.
Painful to take the hit and lose a core player but necessary

Window is closed and time to rebuild, get rid of all the big money contracts that are not worth it like Williams, Aiyuk, and Juice.

Window isn't closed, still have CMC, Jauan, Aiyuk, Brock, TW, Warner, Bosa, DMo, they're not gonna offload contracts this offseason, they're likely looking to retool the team, not rebuild, not sure why dealing Deebo means they're gonna rebuild or get rid of everyone, makes zero sense, they have young talent like Pearsall, Green, Puni, Mustapha, Cowing, Guerendo, Evan Anderson, Kalia Davis, Luter, and others who are ready to step up.

The Niners still take the cap hit. I'm not sure if there's way in th NFL for a team to absorb another team's cap hit. If there was I'm sure they would have tried to work that out.
