Let's hope the cap comes in around $195M, that would give the 49ers $14.5M more in cap room than I have projected, which is $18,336,419, so $32,836,419 would be the best case scenario, before anything happening with Jimmy, Dee, & Richburg.
That's a very interesting article on a new huge t.v. deal that would help out the NFL with the salary cap. I know all these NFL free agents are wishing this actually happens.
Maybe John lynch know's that something like this new tv deal will happen because Tim Kawakami the editor-in-chief of the athletic was on knbr yesterday saying the niners are not worried about the salary cap and they will be just fine and they don't need to restructure and extend Jimmy G to create more cap space.

Yeah if I'm the 49ers, I'm not worried about the salary cap, either for 2021 or beyond. I'm confident that we'll be able to keep the following, Trent Williams, Kyle Juszyck, Kerry Hyder Jr., Emmanuel Moseley, Marcell Harris, Ross Dwelley, Daniel Brunskill, I also believe we have a good shot at re-signing K'Waun Williams & Jason Verrett. I can see D.J. Jones, C.J. Beathard, Ahkello Witherspoon, Kendrick Bourne, Hroniss Grasu, Ben Garland, Dontae Johnson, Jamar Taylor, and Ronald Blair III on cheap 1 or 2yr deals.

I see us not re-signing Tevin Coleman, Jerick McKinnon, Trent Taylor, Tony Bergstrom, Tom Compton, Ezekiel Ansah, Dion Jordan, Jaquiski Tartt & Richard Sherman.

I also expect the team to extend Fred Warner & Laken Tomlinson to new deals.

I'm unsure of what the 49ers will do with Nick Mullens, if we can get him to sign a 1yr $920K deal, and let him compete in camp, or we could tender him, and try and trade him. Maybe Rich Scangarello can help Mullens.

I can also see them re-signing Jordan Willis and Joe Walker to 1yr minimum deals to compete in camp. Most of the 1yr deals would be for camp battles, Johnson as a backup Slot CB. Grasu/Garland for IOL backup spot, Beathard for QB backup, Spoon also for backup CB. Walker for backup LB, and Willis/Blair for EDGE depth.

Would the 49ers like the NFL to know they were worried? That would take away their leverage on anything they have planned.

Jimmy can be 2.8 mill or 27mill against the Cap

This. It all comes down to if a player like Williams wants to stay, but we should from numbers standpoint be able to keep pace with the market.

Yes, when it comes to someone like Trent & Juice, we can certainly match or beat any offer, just because teams have more cap room, like the Jags, Jets, WFT, Colts, etc... That doesn't mean the player will just go to whoever has the most cap room, it's all about the guaranteed money, if the 49ers offer Trent $62.5M+ GTD(with $45M+ Fully), I have no doubt he's a 49ers on a 5yr deal, worth likely between $20M to $22M a yr, and that APY is really only important to agents, who get to gloat that "hey I got this guy $22M a yr, so you should hire me as your agent" stuff like that. For teams, structure is everything, and the 49ers know how to do this the best IMO. Any Trent deal with the 49ers should include $250K per game roster bonuses, $100K workout bonuses, his 2021, 2022, & 2023 base salaries GTD fully, and his 2024 would be partially GTD for injury, but unlike most 49ers deals, they would do what they did with Kittle, so Trent's 2024 base would become GTD on April 1, 2023. Another thing the team could do, is again like with Kittle, guarantee part of his 2022 & 2023 & 2024 base fully, and the rest becomes GTD on April 1 of the previous year. The same can be said for a deal for Fred Warner, but his will be similar to Kittle's, $15M-$18M signing bonus, takes up between $3M-$3.6M in cap room, chunk change for teams, especially if the cap comes in higher than $180M-$181M.

That is a pretty reasonable list of assumptions. I am sure there will be a few surprise adds and subtractions, but most of it makes a lot of sense.
My take on Trent Williams and where he could go.

If he stays true to his word, he won't go to a rebuild, so rule out

Jags(Rebuild, no franchise QB),

Jets(They have Beckton that they drafted high, plus George Fant at RT, doubt they'd move Beckton to RT after taking him so high), Pats(They never give big deals to Tackles, they let Nate Solder, & Trent Brown walk, they may lose Joe Thuney, who may get T money like $16M+ a yr, plus who's their QB?),

Colts, they do have a void with Costanzo retiring, but who's the QB? Rivers retired, plus there's talks of Quenton Nelson moving to LT, I'd say it depends on the QB.

WFT(No way he goes back to Washington, not after what that organization put him through),

Pats(Who's the QB? Plus Belicheck never pays an OL big money, he let Nate Solder & Trent Brown walk, plus they could lose Joe Thuney who could get Tackle money, I just see this as a longshot, never count them out in season, but the Pats don't usually spend on outside FAs)

Broncos(Rebuild, plus they have their LT & RT signed long term, Bolles & James),

Bengals(Rebuild as well, they have Jonah Williams at LT),

Miami, while seems like an attractive spot, they have a LT they drafted in round 1, Austin Jackson, and a RT they signed to an extension),

the Chargers are appealing, no LT signed, they do have Bullaga at RT, but Justin Herbert is appealing, but, they have a ton of FAs to pay or decide on, Melvin Ingram, Hunter Henry, Denzel Perryman, Forrest Lamp, Dan Feeney,

The Browns while intriguing just drafted Jedrick Willis in 2020 at LT, and gave Jack Conklin a huge deal, where they'd lose money by cutting him, plus rumors of JJ Watt to CLE would take up a lot of their projected $21M in cap room.

Panthers not IMO, yeah they have a void at LT, but they're low on cap room, just $20M, after cutting Kawann Short, plus is Teddy the right QB for them? Could they get Watson? IDK, I'd say no,

Dallas, no, Tyron Smith at LT signed long term, La'el Collins at RT just got a big $50M deal in 2019, plus they need to retain Dak or decide what to do with Dak.

Ravens, no, they just signed Ronnie Stanley to a new huge deal, Orlando Brown is at RT, Idk if it's true he wants out, but still, the Ravens have $18M, and can't afford to pay two Tackles the kinda money Stanley got & Trent will get.

Bucs, no, they have Donovan Smith at LT on a big deal, plus drafted Tristan Wirfs to play RT, plus they're low on cap room.

Cards, doubt it, they signed DJ Humphries to a big deal, they'd lose money cutting him, they have a void at RT, but they're also low on cap room.

Lions have Taylor Decker at LT on a big deal, and Hala Vaitai at RT on a big deal, plus they'll be over the cap once the Stafford for Goff deal is done,

Texans is a no too, they just signed Laremy Tunsill to a $22M a yr deal at LT, they wouldn't move him to RT. Plus they don't have much cap room anyway, and with Watson wanting out, I doubt he'd go there.

Seattle could be intriguing, they could have a void at LT, but they don't have the cap room either.

Giants low on cap room have Nate Solder at LT on a huge deal, doubt they can afford two Tackles on big deals.

Bills are over the cap, plus have Dion Dawkins at LT on a new deal, again the Bills likely can't pay two Tackle that kind of money.

Titans are over the cap, they have Taylor Lewan at LT on a huge deal, they're rumored to want Watt, unknown what happens with last years 1st rd pick RT Isaiah Williams, but again the Titans can't afford two Tackles that high.

The Vikings are over the cap, they have young players like Brian O'Neill, & Ezra Cleveland that they drafted in the 2nd round, plus Trent vetoed a deal to Minnesota in 2020 offseason.

The Bears are over the cap, look more like a rebuild, no good QB, yes they have/potentially voids at LT & RT, but doubtful.

Raiders drafted Kolton Miller to play LT, and gave Trent Brown a HUGE deal, they're over the cap, doubt they can afford two Tackles high priced.

Packers are an obvious no, over the cap, they just extended David Bakhtiari to a huge deal, no way they move him to RT, plus like with most teams they can't afford two high priced OTs.

Chiefs are over the cap, have Eric Fisher at LT, could have void at RT, but not sure how the Chiefs would be able to make a deal for Trent work with Mahomes, Kelce, Jones, Clark, Hitchens, Mathieu(could be cut or reworked deal), Hill(Could be cut, or reworked deal) all signed to big money deals.

The Rams are way over the cap, yes they have a potential void at LT if they don't put Joseph Noteboom there, plus how much can having Stafford lure Trent to the Rams

Steelers are way over the cap, they do need a LT as Villanueva is a FA, but the Steelers rarely ever bring in outside FAs, let alone high priced outside FAs.

Falcons, 1 are over the cap, 2 they have Jake Matthews on a long term deal at LT, they drafted Kaleb McGary to play RT, and the status of Matt Ryan's future is uncertain.

The Eagles, over the cap by almost $50M, have 2019 1st rd pick Andre Dillard at LT, and Lane Johnson at RT on a huge deal, they can't cut him without losing a whopping $21M in cap room.

And finally the Saints, nearly $70M over the cap, have Terron Armstead on a multi year deal at LT, they'll likely restructure his deal again to gain cap room, and they have Ryan Ramczyk at RT inn the final year of his deal, needing an extension, not sure they can pay 2 Tackle high money, plus who's the QB? Tayson Hill or Jameis Winston?

I honestly don't see a big market for Trent, if he stays true to his word, I'd rule out

Jags
Jets
WFT
Patriots
Broncos
Bengals
Miami
Browns
Panthers
Cowboys
Ravens
Bucs
Lions
Texans
Giants
Bills
Titans
Vikings
Bears
Raiders
Packers
Chiefs
Steelers
Falcons
Eagles
Saints

That's 26 teams that are either rebuilding, have a LT signed to high priced deal, or don't have the cap room to make a deal work, of these, I could see Miami as a potential landing spot, but only if they get Watson.

Teams who could be in play

Colts
Chargers
Cardinals
Seahawks
Rams
49ers

So 6 teams in play IMO, Colts have the most money, but no QB, Chargers have a QB, decent amount of money, but need to lock up some key FAs, Cards are lower on cap room, Seahawks, & Rams are either low or over the cap, while the 49ers are playoff/super bowl ready. I just think the fact that Trent loves the Shanahan's, Kyle's system, they did right by him by agreeing to not tag him, him looking like he was having a great time as a 49er, and the team is loaded, we have to be the favorites to re-sign him IMO.

Very true we all know who they are....

Regarding Trent Williams wouldn't the Rams not be in play because they have Whitworth at left tackle?

and Seattle has Duane Brown at LT?

I think we are definitely going to re-sign him

Good points on Rams & Seahawks having LTs.

So really if Trent stays true to his word, stays away from a rebuilding team, then the teams in the hunt look more like this.

Colts
Chargers
Cardinals
49ers

I also think Trent will be back, have been saying this since we traded for him last April, the 49ers did right by him, agreeing not to tag him, guaranteeing half his base salary, plus he loves Kyle's system, & the Shanahan's, he should be back, just hope we hear what the 2021 cap will be set at ASAP(LIKE YESTERDAY!!!!!), so we can see some deals get done, maybe Trent & Juice don't make it to free agency, would be awesome if we signed both before March 17th at 4PM EST when Free Agency begins.

Totally agree.

The only thing I worry about with Trent is some idiot front office -- with a ton of cap space -- offers him more than Baktiari contract and money, then at that point, if I was Trent, I'd say adios 49ers.
keep pushing it up!
